Thorfinn's father. His real name is Thors Snorresson. He is an ideal figure for Thorfinn and has a strong influence on him, characterized by his virtuous personality. Before fleeing to Iceland, he was one of the four battalion leaders of the Jomsvikings and was known as the "Troll of Jom," a ruthless warrior. However, the birth of his eldest daughter Ylva and his wife Helga led him to grow weary of the cruelty and futility of the battlefield, prompting him to discover what it means to be a "true warrior" and decide to abandon his life as a warrior. In 987, he faked his death by drowning during the Battle of Hjörungavágr off the coast of Norway and escaped with Helga and Ylva.
