Sosei Akabane

Sosei Akabane has black hair styled in a two-block haircut and very short eyebrows that look like straight lines. He has a small beauty mark under his left eye. His appearance gives off the impression of a cheerful and approachable young man.

Sosei is seen by the public as friendly, reliable, and the perfect leader.

He is so popular that he was named "Ideal Boss" for ten years in a row.

But in reality, he is very different from what people think.

He looks down on monsters and even people, often calling children "brats" behind their backs.

He's also violent and doesn't hesitate to punish those who stand in his way with brutal force.

Sosei Akabane is the leader of the Red Squadron, holding the highest rank of "Shoichii".

He is also the leader of the Ryujin Sentai Dragon Keeper team.

He holds the title of Red Keeper and transforms using a special relic called the Red Divine Tool, which looks like a Japanese sword.

He recruited Shougo Aoshima, a former criminal, into the Great Squadron, giving him a second chance; Shougo later became the Blue Keeper but died in battle.

Sosei used to wield the Red Divine Tool, a sword-shaped relic that could destroy monsters.

It was stolen from him by Footsoldier D and is now with Yumeko Suzukiri, greatly reducing his fighting power.

Without the weapon, he can't transform, so he now wears only a regular suit.

But behind the scenes, his true personality is much harsher.

Abusing Power and Ruthless Acts

He is deeply prejudiced against monsters and even shows contempt for people.

This attitude comes out when he overkills regular monsters like Footsoldier F, using his powerful Divine Tool against them.

Sosei also deals brutally with allies who challenge him, such as when he almost suffocated Jin Himura for questioning his leadership and later killed him offscreen.

He even killed Dairyū Azuki, his aide, after a minor accident with spilled tea.

Public Violence and Downfall

During a public meeting, Sosei lost control and, in a fit of anger, crushed Angel Usukubo’s hand on camera.

This shocking act was caught on video by Hwalipon, who had disguised himself as a member of the squadron.

The video spread widely, destroying the squadron’s reputation and ending the weekly Sunday battles after 12 years.

Loss and Replacement

After losing his Relic to Footsoldier D, Sosei’s power drops.

He can no longer transform and must wear a regular suit.

When he tries to justify the loss, he shows no remorse.

His leadership style becomes even more violent as he roots out suspected traitors, often killing them.

Eventually, Shinya Kiritani and Dragon Keeper’s mascot, Ryujin-kun, set him up for removal.

They shock him with the news that he will be replaced by a clone with fabricated memories.

As he protests, the bridge beneath him explodes, sending him into the river.

Memory Loss and New Beginnings

Though gravely injured, Sosei survives and washes up near a slum.

He is found by Sanae Midorikawa, the scriptwriter for the Dragon Keeper show, and her daughter Momiji.

While recovering, pieces of his old memories start to return.

He recalls being the original Red Keeper, launching a project to make Dragon Keeper real, and driving his friend Tadaharu Midorikawa to suicide.

Seeking Revenge

Sanae, driven by a desire for revenge for her husband’s fate and her lost script, stabs Sosei.

He survives, but Sanae later takes her own life.

Sosei then learns that her daughter, Momiji, has been kidnapped by Kuroko agents.

Furious and desperate, he destroys the agents to rescue her.

Swearing revenge on the squadron that betrayed him, Sosei joins up with the new rebel squad, ready to fight back and reclaim his place.
