Sakuno's most distinct feature is her long hair, styled into two braids that reach down to her thighs.

In the movie *Ryoma! The Prince of Tennis*, she temporarily changed her hairstyle to a ponytail while time-traveling.

As the series' heroine, Sakuno has a gentle and supportive nature, though she is not particularly athletic.

Sakuno first met Ryoma on a train where he saved her from Sasabe's older brother.

Later, when Ryoma asked for directions to the Kakinokizaka Junior Tennis tournament, she accidentally gave him the wrong directions, causing him to default his match.

Initially, Ryoma didn't even remember her name, suggesting she made a faint first impression on him.

In the manga, she began seriously watching the official matches starting from the national semifinals against Shitenhoji. In the anime, however, she is shown cheering from the very first intra-school ranking matches.

The New Prince of Tennis

In this series, Sakuno greeted Ryoma at the airport upon his return, bringing a certificate she won for placing third in a small tournament.

When Ryoma was forced to leave the U-17 training camp, she spent time with him to help him clear his head. She awkwardly but sincerely encouraged him, successfully lifting his troubled spirits.
