Character Setting

Edit

Blaze is a male demon warrior with the head of a boar, a foul mouth, and a straightforward, dependable personality who appears in Mushoku Tensei.

He is a former member of the adventurer party “Rikarisu Delinquent Squad” and later the B-rank party leader of “Super Blaze,” as well as an old comrade of Roxy Migurdia.

Blaze belongs to a boar-like demon race and works as a frontline warrior.

He is known for his crude speech, constant cursing, and surprisingly reliable nature beneath the rough exterior.

He was once part of the adventurer party “Rikarisu Delinquent Squad,” where he adventured alongside Roxy Migurdia, Nokopara, Dale, and others.

After that party disbanded, he remained an adventurer and eventually became the leader of the B-rank party “Super Blaze” on the Demon Continent.

Blaze continued taking requests in dangerous regions such as the Petrified Forest.

He ultimately met his end when he was killed and eaten by the Red-Eating Great Serpent in the Petrified Forest.

His race resembles that of the plundering Demon King Baglar Haglar, who is also boar-like, but according to the author they are entirely different species.

Within the harsh environment of the Demon Continent, Blaze’s eventual B-rank status marks him as a highly capable adventurer by the standards of other continents.

Blaze has the head of a boar attached to a large, muscular male body.

His boar face includes a broad snout, tusk-like fangs, and a generally brutish, intimidating look that matches his rough behavior.

His overall impression is that of a sturdy, battle-worn warrior who relies on strength rather than finesse.

He visually stands out even among demons due to his distinctly animalistic head and rugged physique.

Blaze constantly grumbles, curses, and spits insults, especially at Nokopara, with whom he quarrels frequently.

Despite this, his behavior is not truly malicious; he is guided by a solid core of honor and loyalty.

Roxy Migurdia describes him as “not a bad guy, but a dependable man,” reflecting how his actions consistently back up his companions.

He can be blunt and abrasive, yet he shows concern and responsibility toward his party members.

When Roxy leaves the Migurd race settlement and is still inexperienced in the wider world, Blaze quietly keeps an eye on her.

He does not pamper her, but he makes sure she is not abandoned or endangered without support.

Regarding Dale’s belief that “to rise as an adventurer you need brute strength” and his desire to take highly dangerous requests, Blaze does not actively agree.

At the same time, unlike Nokopara and Roxy, he also does not strongly oppose the idea, suggesting a pragmatic attitude toward risk.

His speech often mixes mockery and rough humor, but he shows clear loyalty in battle.

A typical example of his attitude can be heard in his line: “I’ll make sure to protect you, so don’t worry. Even if I ditch horse-face! Hah!”

Blaze fights as a warrior on the front lines, relying on physical strength and toughness rather than delicate technique.

He is not good at fine or intricate work, which leads Nokopara to sarcastically label him as belonging to the “rough, big-swing style.”

His final adventurer rank is B, achieved on the Demon Continent where monsters are far stronger than in most other regions.

Because of this, a B-rank Demon Continent adventurer like Blaze is considered high quality compared to typical adventurers from other continents.

Roxy Migurdia, who later becomes an A-rank adventurer on other continents, is impressed to hear that Blaze has become the leader of a B-rank party.

She feels that becoming such a leader in that harsh environment proves how much he has grown and how reliable he is.

Blaze and his party accept requests in the Petrified Forest, a region where all monsters move at speeds comparable to Paul Greyrat.

Handling hunts in such an area suggests that Blaze might, in practical terms, rival or surpass Paul’s strength in that specific environment.

However, his life ends abruptly when he encounters the Red-Eating Great Serpent, a powerful monster that does not normally inhabit the Petrified Forest.

This serpent kills and devours Blaze almost instantly, showing that despite his strength, there are creatures in the world that far exceed even seasoned Demon Continent adventurers.

Roxy Migurdia

Blaze is an old comrade of Roxy Migurdia from their days in the “Rikarisu Delinquent Squad.”

Although he often speaks harshly, he clearly values her and looks out for her, especially when she first leaves her home settlement.

Roxy remembers him as rough but reliable, acknowledging that his support helped her survive as a young adventurer.

Their bond is less about soft sentiment and more about mutual trust forged in dangerous situations.

Nokopara

Blaze and Nokopara bicker constantly, trading insults and sarcastic remarks at every opportunity.

Their quarrels are a running feature of their interactions, but they still fight side by side when it matters.

Nokopara teases Blaze by calling him “rough and careless” and mocking his inability to handle precise tasks.

Despite the constant verbal sparring, their relationship resembles that of combative but compatible comrades.

Dale

Dale believes that climbing the adventurer ranks requires taking on high-risk, high-reward requests.

Blaze does not fully agree with this mindset, yet he also does not strongly oppose Dale’s choices.

This neutral stance shows that Blaze respects each comrade’s way of adventuring, even if he personally considers some decisions reckless.

He is willing to follow risky plans while keeping a pragmatic eye on everyone’s safety.

Former Party and Later Party

In the “Rikarisu Delinquent Squad,” Blaze served as a frontline fighter among a unique mix of adventurers.

After the party dissolved, he did not retire but instead continued to grow stronger as an independent adventurer.

Eventually, he became the leader of the B-rank party “Super Blaze.”

Leading a B-rank team on the Demon Continent highlights his steady progression from rough brawler to respected commander.

Blaze is voiced by Ryunosuke Watanuki.

The performance emphasizes his boisterous, foul-mouthed banter while also conveying the underlying reliability and warmth in his actions.
