Paul Greyrat

Rudeus's father. A low-ranking knight who manages the village of Buena in the Fittoa region.

Born into the high-ranking noble Greyrat family of the Asura Kingdom, he left home at the age of 12 due to disagreements with his strict father and lived as an adventurer. However, after getting his party member Zenith pregnant, he retired from adventuring in search of a stable life and took up a position as a stationed knight in Buena Village, relying on his cousin Philip.

An excellent swordsman who has mastered all three major swordsmanship styles to an advanced level. His sword technique, which combines the positioning of the North God style and the dual-wielding form with the defense of the Water God style and the offense of the Sword God style, is also said to embody the ideal swordsman. He is most talented in the North God style, and his movements become beast-like when he fights seriously, but he dislikes using the North God style and prefers not to use it. He is flexible in dealing with people, approaching even those with bad reputations without prejudice, and has many excellent qualities as a leader, such as decisiveness and execution ability. However, he has many flaws, such as being irresponsible with women, becoming emotional to the point of losing sight of his surroundings, and turning to alcohol when cornered, leading to repeated regrets in his relationships. He is said to lack his father's talent, and while he places great expectations on Rudeus for his excellence and treats him as a full-fledged individual from an early age, he does not understand his weaknesses or shortcomings, which led to a fight in the Holy Country of Milis. Similarly, he fails to notice that his genius daughter Aisha is also hurt by her treatment in the Latreia family, but on the other hand, he is very concerned about his ordinary daughter Norn, who became the only family member by his side due to the Fittoa region teleportation incident.

In the Fittoa region teleportation incident, he was teleported to the southern part of the Asura Kingdom with Norn. After returning, he grasped the situation and formed the "Fittoa Region Search Party," starting a search for his missing family members with Norn. However, not only could he not find his family, but he was also mentally cornered by events such as the death reports of his friends and the deaths of team members due to conflicts with the Milis nobility. He had a reunion with Rudeus but ended up arguing with him, blaming Rudeus, who was unaware that his family was missing and cheerfully talking about his travels. Later, his former companion Geese pointed out the harshness of the Demon Continent where Rudeus was sent and the excessive expectations he had for Rudeus, leading him to regret his irreversible mistakes. The next day, he apologized to Rudeus, and after Rudeus understood Paulo's feelings, they reconciled.

Paulo's beloved sword. The hilt is from a replica of the Holy Sword of Milis that Paulo found in a labyrinth. Although it originally had no blade, he replaced it with the hilt of the sword he had been using until then, to never forget the importance of his companions. The blade part is well-made and sturdy, and with proper care, it is said to last another 100 years.
