Hime Yarizakura

The protagonist of this work. Mayor of Sakurashin Town. High school girl.

Born on May 4th. 16 years old. Height 166 centimeters. Her hobbies include patrolling, self-discipline, and creating original idioms (starting around summer). She has long black hair and reddish-purple eyes, and she always wears a long scarf regardless of the season.

She has been serving as mayor since she was 9 years old when her grandmother, Machi, the previous mayor, fell ill. The elderly people in the town think of her as both the mayor and like a granddaughter. She feels a strong sense of responsibility as mayor and often insists that even close acquaintances call her "Mayor" during official duties. She cares deeply for the town and its residents, sometimes taking reckless actions that cause concern. While she is generally strong-willed and positive, she frequently gets depressed over her own failures or criticisms, a trait described by the author as "Tsun-Heko" instead of "Tsundere."

She is a big eater, consuming up to six meals a day, and loves noodles so much that she calls herself a "noodle lover" (she once stated that 20 packs of fresh noodles are a "day's worth"). When talking about noodles, she takes on a character that resembles an incomprehensible expert. Although she usually has a strong-willed attitude, she becomes petulant when hungry (the main victim being Akina).

She always carries a scroll called the "Hime Memo," where she records the day's events, activities, and important matters. However, since the amount of things to write about has decreased recently, she sometimes uses it as a notebook for creating original idioms.

She possesses extraordinary abilities, such as easily dodging or deflecting bullets fired at close range with her bare hands (according to Kotoha, anyone can do it if they hit from the side at Mach 3). In combat, she wields long objects like lacrosse sticks, which are club equipment, as spears (in the first TV anime, she always carries a retractable spear).

She is actually a yokai who inherited the bloodline of a dragon, and in her childhood, her immense yokai power was suppressed by Yae. The scarf Hime wears regardless of the season was knitted by Akina to comfort her when she cried over the scar on her neck from the yokai power seal and to hide the scar. On the day she became mayor, to become a leader of Sakurashin Town, where humans and yokai coexist, Yae erased the memory of "Hime being a yokai" from all the townspeople to help her think from both human and yokai perspectives. However, later, during an incident in the neighboring town's mayoral election, the fact that she is a yokai was revealed, and it seems to be recognized by the townspeople since then. With the return of memories, she was entrusted with the energy of the dragon veins residing in the land of Sakurashin Town, the true dragon spear "Sakanade."

As mentioned earlier, she is a member of the lacrosse club at school. Due to her mayoral duties, she doesn't have much practice time and isn't very skilled, but she seems to enjoy it despite being bad at ball games in general (for example, there is a scene where she plays table tennis with Momoka in "Tsukinaku," where her swings are large but the ball's momentum is weak).
