Kaioh

A person who is active as a missionary in Shimabara and uses a trident as a weapon. He welcomed Shougo Amakusa, who came from the continent, but in reality, plotted to eliminate him as a martyr in order to unite the believers under his leadership and seize the position of leader. Furthermore, he formed an alliance with Western powers with the intention to weaken the Meiji government, turn Japan into a colony of those foreign nations, and rule as its king himself. His mother was a hidden Christian who was exiled from Japan, gave birth to him on the continent, and died soon after. Driven by the desire for revenge against Japan for banishing both his mother and himself, he acted towards this end. Ultimately, he was killed when Rorenzo Shouzou hit him directly with an explosive shell passed on from Sagara Sanosuke.
