Mifune

Mifune has an incredible fondness for children, a trait that heavily influences his life decisions.

Despite his immense power, he is an honorable warrior who can recognize and respect the strength in others, especially his rival, Black☆Star.

He was originally the personal bodyguard for the young witch, Angela Leon.

To guarantee her safety, he made a difficult choice and began working as a bodyguard for the organization Arachnophobia.

Mifune is a master of the "Infinite One-Sword Style," a unique fighting discipline that utilizes a vast number of katanas.

His soul is exceptionally powerful, said to be equivalent to 99 ordinary human souls, earning him the title of "Sword God."

His combat prowess is nothing short of monstrous.

He single-handedly decimated an entire army of weapon meisters and can effortlessly dodge rapid gunfire from experts like Azusa Yumi.

Black☆Star

Black☆Star is Mifune's greatest rival, with their clashes defining both of their paths as warriors. Over the course of their battles, Mifune comes to acknowledge Black☆Star as a true martial artist.

Angela Leon

Mifune is deeply devoted to Angela, the young witch he was sworn to protect. His actions are all driven by his desire to keep her safe, and his final words in the manga were an apology directed to her.

First Encounters

In an early one-shot chapter, Mifune fought Black☆Star but was defeated when his opponent exploited a momentary opening.

They met again at the Demon Tool Development Lab, where Mifune dominated the fight, overwhelming Black☆Star's Enchanted Sword Mode for a complete victory.

The Final Duel (Manga)

Mifune reunited with Black☆Star during the assault on Baba Yaga's Castle, finding him much more powerful than before.

Recognizing him as a true warrior, Mifune fought with his full strength for the first time in their rivalry.

After a spectacular and brutal duel, Mifune was ultimately defeated.

In his final moments, he entrusted his "will of the warrior" to Black☆Star and passed away after speaking his final words of apology to Angela.

Anime Version

The anime adaptation presents a different storyline for Mifune.

His soul is not specified as being worth 99 human souls, and Black☆Star's initial reason for confronting him is altered.

Most significantly, Mifune survives his final battle against Black☆Star.

He is later seen visiting the DWMA in the final ending credits of the series.

Despite his Japanese name and mastery of the katana, it is rumored that Mifune is actually a foreigner.

He is said to greatly admire ninjas and samurai, which is what inspired his warrior lifestyle.
