Megumin

Bukkorori has a big crush on Soketto, the most beautiful girl and fortune-teller in the village.

He tried to get closer to her many times and even used magic to secretly watch her, but Soketto noticed and was not amused.

Soketto actually does not completely dislike Bukkorori, but his stalking caused many awkward moments between them.

When Soketto tried to see Bukkorori’s future love life in her crystal ball, she saw nothing, which made him feel hopeless.

Kazuma Satou

Bukkorori gets along with Kazuma Satou because they are both lazy and like to waste time.

They bond over being slackers and find ways to pass the time together.

Daily Life and Joblessness

Bukkorori is well known in his village as the son of the town’s top shoemaker.

He leads the “Anti-Demon King Patrol Squad” with other jobless friends, giving the group a grand name even though they rarely do anything.

Crush on Soketto

Bukkorori secretly likes Soketto and tries hard to impress her.

He often uses magic to watch her without being seen, but Soketto knows about his spying and is not surprised.

Despite this, they eventually talk and Bukkorori asks Soketto to predict who his future girlfriend might be.

To his dismay, the crystal ball shows no one at all, and he leaves in despair.

Unbeknownst to them, the fortune-teller can’t see her own future, and they are actually both interested in each other but don’t realize it.

Events in "Explosion on this Wonderful World!"

To get closer to Soketto, Bukkorori asks Megumin and Yunyun for help.

While trying to impress Soketto, he accidentally blasts her away with a Tornado spell due to his excitement, resulting in more confusion and drama.

In the end, he and Soketto are able to talk.

Main Story Role

During a chase by the Demon King’s Army, Bukkorori helps Kazuma Satou and his friends by using the “Light of Saber” spell and teleporting them to safety in the village.

Bukkorori fights together with Soketto against the Demon King’s army and commanders like Sylvia.

Though his patrol group rarely faces real danger, Bukkorori sometimes helps look out for suspicious monsters and even detains Megumin for causing trouble near the village.

Friendship with Kazuma Satou

Bukkorori quickly becomes friends with Kazuma Satou when they meet.

They have fun wasting time and come up with silly ways to spend their free hours.

Love Fortune Fiasco

Bukkorori is heartbroken when Soketto’s fortune-telling shows no potential girlfriends for him.

Megumin, Yunyun, and Soketto try to comfort him, but Bukkorori feels worse and dramatically storms out, shouting “World, you’re stupid!”

It turns out, Soketto’s fortune-telling could not show anything as the event involved herself, which left both of them confused and lost.

Bukkorori is a self-proclaimed hero and leader, but is actually a cheerful slacker.

His name “Bukkorori” sounds funny and strange in Japanese, fitting his silly personality.

Even though he has strong magic talent and power, he avoids real responsibility.

Both villagers and the readers see him as a comic character in the series.
