Ciel Phantomhive

The young head of the Phantomhive family, holding the title of "Earl." Born on December 14, 1875, he is 12 years old at the start of the main story.

Despite his young age, he governs a vast territory and is a genius entrepreneur, serving as the president of the toy and confectionery manufacturer "Phantom Company," which he has grown into the largest enterprise in Britain within a few years. Behind the scenes, the Phantomhive family has been traditionally known as the "Queen's Watchdog" and "the nobility of evil," undertaking various clandestine missions to resolve incidents at the behest of the Queen of the British Empire.

He usually has a stern face and is incredibly selfish. He is rough with his servants (demons?), and even the sharp-tongued Sebastian secretly calls him a "brat." Despite his maturity for his age, he has his weaknesses, such as being easily pressured and not showing up at noble gatherings due to his poor social dancing skills, a necessity for nobility. He suffers from asthma and cat allergies.

His intellect is exceptionally sharp, and according to the author's comment in the official character book, "he has the brain of a genius at university level at the age of 13." This intelligence is also evident in his strength at chess.

While he possesses the pride of a great noble, he lacks the prejudices common among nobility (such as not allowing servants to speak without permission, discriminating based on social status rather than ability, etc.). He does not reprimand his servants, including those from foreign lands like Soma and Agni, for speaking out of turn in front of him, and he hires based on ability regardless of background, showing a more flexible mindset than typical for his time.

His favorite food is sweets... or rather, he has a small and picky appetite. He loves sweets so much that he snacks on them even when out, but there are few depictions of him eating other meals, and when he does, he only takes a bite or two. This, combined with his naturally slender build, makes him particularly delicate and petite, and it's said that his waist size keeps getting smaller each time it's measured.

As the "Queen's Watchdog," he is ruthless towards his enemies, showing no mercy. However, he tries to help those who are unrelated and refrains from unnecessary killing, showing a side of him that cannot become completely merciless. This has led some adults who knew his predecessor to comment that he is still too naive.

Despite being young and delicate to inherit the family, he has a very strong core and does not succumb to adversity. His dignified way of living commands deep respect from Sebastian.
