Naoki Atenbou

A formerly obese man who worked at an Italian restaurant. His weapon is a gun. He has an irresponsible personality, always making excuses and never reflecting on his mistakes. Even after burning down the restaurant due to his carelessness with a cigarette during cleaning after closing hours, he continues to blame his misfortune, saying, "I'm just an incredibly unlucky person." In the final battle with Akira's group, he faces off against Shizuka and tries to achieve his goal of "French kissing a young girl," but is shot by Hiko-jii and defeated by the villagers who were inspired by him to help Shizuka. In the end, Shizuka dismisses him, saying, "There's no way luck would favor someone as selfish and self-centered as you," leading to his complete defeat. Within the Higurashi group, he is the only one not attacked by zombies after his defeat, and in the original work, he remains in the village to atone for his sins by working in agriculture.
