She holds the position of deputy commander in the Oceanus and serves as the vice president of the student council (2nd year) in high school, always assisting Shima. She maintains her cool personality in both worlds and does not directly engage in combat.

She harbors a hope to have a relationship with Shima beyond that of superior and subordinate, persistently making subtle advances, but Shima, due to his background, deliberately maintains a cold demeanor. She sometimes feels mild distrust and jealousy towards Shizuno, who shares secrets with Shima.

After Shima collapses, she takes over his role and commands the Oceanus. Her previously damaged legs are repaired, and in the second semester after the final battle, she joins the swimming club at Maihama South High School.

In the movie 'ADP,' the process of her being salvaged from the Sydney server in Australia and becoming the deputy commander is depicted.

"Minato" is a name she adopted meaning "harbor." Her real name is Emma Springrain. The name was given by Asanuma, who plays Kyo.
