The Titan shifter of the "Beast Titan." He is 183 cm tall and weighs 92 kg. A large-framed man with glasses and a beard. Initially appeared as the "Beast Titan" and later revealed his true form. He is the "Warrior Chief" of the "Marleyan Warriors," serving as a brotherly figure to Reiner and others, while also being "the man who stands at the top of those who execute operations with skill." He has an elusive personality, always maintaining a calm demeanor, but shows a ruthless and merciless side towards enemies. Inherited glasses and exceptional throwing skills from his predecessor, the "Beast Titan" inheritor, Ksaver, and possesses a unique special ability to transform Eldians injected with his spinal fluid into Titans with a "scream" and control them. In the story, after landing on Paradis Island, he transformed the residents of Ragako Village into mindless Titans and scouted various locations as the "Beast Titan." Later, he joined Reiner and Bertholdt, who had escaped to Shiganshina District, and forced them into submission with his strength, then confronted the Survey Corps in Shiganshina District. He decimated the Survey Corps outside Shiganshina District with powerful rock-throwing, but was defeated by Levi's surprise attack. He was then rescued by the Cart Titan and retreated with the surviving Reiner. His origin is as an Eldian of royal blood, born to Grisha and Dina, a descendant of the royal family, and Eren's half-brother. Raised under the brainwashing-like education of his parents to become a "Marleyan Warrior," he did not desire it himself and was burdened by the heavy responsibility of meeting his parents' expectations. At the age of seven, he learned that the Marleyan government was aware of the Restorationists' existence and, to protect himself and his grandparents, reluctantly reported his parents to the Marleyan government. This act of loyalty to Marley and his hidden royal power earned him the title of "Child of Wonder," gaining strong trust from Marley, but his tragic experiences and interactions with Ksaver gradually led him to wish for the "peaceful extinction of the Eldians." After returning to Marley, he served in the war against the Mid-East Allied Forces, achieving significant victories with Reiner and the Warrior Unit, leading Marley to victory. Meanwhile, he secretly planned an attack on Marley with Eren, whom he considered a brother, and the "Anti-Marleyan Volunteers," communicating with the people within the walls. He faked his death in the battle of the Marleyan expedition operation to disappear and accompanied the Survey Corps to Paradis Island. After arriving on Paradis Island, he was placed under Levi's surveillance but managed to escape with a life-threatening self-detonation and reunited with Eren. He attempted to execute the "Euthanasia Plan," which aimed to strip all Eldians of their reproductive abilities, a long-held wish of himself and Ksaver, using the power of the "Founding Titan," but failed when Eren seized control of the power. Subsequently, he was immobilized, incorporated into Eren's Titan body as a key to continue the Rumbling. Later, he met Armin in the "Paths" and, through their dialogue, realized that there is meaning and joy in life beyond reproduction, encouraging past intelligent Titan inheritors like Ksaver to assist the Survey Corps. He then emerged from Eren's Titan's spine and was decapitated by Levi, dying with a sense of relief. The original author, Isayama, stated that he wanted Zeke to be a character who stands as a rival before the protagonist, representing a figure the protagonist should not become, and a brother-like figure that must be surpassed.
