Misery

Originally one of the primordial demons, Veil was summoned by Guy to handle miscellaneous tasks when Guy incarnated, after being defeated alongside Rain in ancient times. Given a name, she evolved into a demon duke and became a loyal maid to Guy. She appears as a beautiful woman with green hair, wearing a dark crimson maid's outfit. Her name derives from "the distorted expression of humans in pain."

She has sharp instincts, is diligent, and hardworking. Although she often finds Rain's carelessness exasperating, she trusts him as a colleague. Unconsciously, she tends to indulge Rain, which makes her get along well with Misora, Rain's aide, more so than with her own aide, Carr. Despite Guy's criticism of her pampering Rain, her actions inadvertently tend to lead to positive outcomes, making her completely supportive of Rain, much to Guy's dismay. In Volume 6, she greets Rimuru and others attending the Demon Lords' banquet and immediately upon returning to the White Ice Palace, she tells Rain, "Clayman will die." In Volume 11, under Guy's orders, she causes havoc in the royal capital with her subordinate, the Green Apostle, and encounters Testarossa. Learning that Testarossa has become a subordinate of Rimuru and been given a name, she quickly retreats to report this information to Guy, gaining respect for Rimuru who has the primordials like Diablo under his command. In Volume 14, she visits the Jura Tempest Federation with Guy, and upon Guy's liking Shuna's cake, she is provided the recipe by Shuna and evolves into a Demon Lord with a soul bestowed by Rimuru, expressing her gratitude to him.

Carr

A demon under Misery's command. As Misery's chief subordinate, he was a high-ranking demon general at the time of Guy's meeting with Leon in Volume 6, but by Volume 18, he has become a marquis-level demon duke following Misery's awakening. Normally calm and a coordinator, he lacks the patience of his colleague Misora. Therefore, he holds Misora, who is often troubled by Rain, in high regard.

During the Celestial War, he fought against the invading angel forces in Eldorado, battling alongside Leon's subordinate Oxian against the celestial-turned-demon Arios. Enraged by Arios treating them as mere practice targets, he tries to escape the situation by exploiting a demon's ability to "die," but is saved by Souei who arrives to help. Later, during a meeting with Guy and Rimuru, while Misery and others were being punished for holding a banquet during the battle, he bravely pleads for Misery's forgiveness from Guy. Although reprimanded by Misery herself, Guy praises him for being able to speak his mind directly.
