Granbell Rozzo

The head of the Rozzo family that rules the Kingdom of Siltross. He is also the founder of the Western Nations Council and the leader of the five elders who dominate the council, wielding influence over the Free Association as well. Once a legendary figure who was a Hero in the making and the Hero of Light, he fought for a thousand years to protect human territories and became the head of the Seven Luminaries, using the Luminous Church to truly dominate human society.

Acting on Mariabel's intentions, he aimed to control human society economically, plotting to eliminate Rimuru and the now powerful Hinata, collaborating with Yuuki and Damrada in secret maneuvers. However, in Volume 9, his plans are thwarted by Luminous's intervention, and he loses his position as one of the Seven Luminaries. In Volume 10, he loses the council's power and Mariabel, who was to lead the next generation of his family, leading him to despair about the future. In Volume 11, exhausted from his role in protecting human society, he clings to a precarious hope beyond a period of social turmoil, making a final gamble with the full force of his family. He attempts to use Yuuki for the revival of Chronoa and the subjugation of Luminous, regaining his youthful vigor at his peak through the energy stored for his wife Maria's resurrection (Raise Dead), and awakens to his ultimate ability during the battle, but is defeated by Luminous. At his end, he regains his sound mind, which had been unraveling since the death of his beloved Maria, and disappears while holding onto hope, watched over by Luminous. During the Great War of Demons, he appears before his disciple Hinata in his prime, thanks to the authority of Rudra residing in Masayuki, and also reunites with Damrada, restoring their relationship from when they served under Rudra.

He possesses the Unique Skill "Indomitable (Akiramenumono)," and during his fight with Luminous, the souls of Maria and Razul sublimate, evolving into the angelic ultimate ability "King of Hope (Sariel)" that manages the cycle of life and reincarnation.
