Taiyō Takada

The first male student who became friends with Akane in the story. He has black hair with a strand falling in the middle of his forehead. Akane thought he also looked cool. He often wears clothes with a Kaiser beard mark and the logo "OHIGE." It's unclear what, but he is taking some lessons. He is from a family of four including his parents and an older sister, but his father is on a solo assignment overseas, effectively making it a single-parent household. They live in an apartment.

He transferred from a small elementary school with only 30 students.

He is bright, honest, sociable, kind to others, and also does things at his own pace. According to Akane, he is "good at all sports" and especially fast, being by far the fastest in the school, including the sixth graders, by the time of the sports festival in the second term of fifth grade. He became "best friends" with Daichi soon after transferring, due to bonding over a 50m sprint time of 7.3 seconds during a physical education test. At the fifth-grade sports festival team relay, he fully demonstrated his speed, drawing attention, which led to a confession from a junior in the first term of sixth grade. Due to his bright and sociable nature, by the second term of fifth grade, Sumire called him "the center of attention and a popular figure in the class." He named a broom that was treated like a cursed object to tease Akane "Dark Dancer the Magic Spear," and when he had a cast for a fracture, he said it was "like sealing an evil dragon," showing his unique sensibility. His sister Yukiko calls him "middle school second-year in taste." He takes things positively, so sarcasm, snide remarks, and insults almost never affect him. This is particularly evident regarding Akane, where insults turn into compliments, and sometimes these compliments sound like "declarations of love" or "proposals," often making Akane blush. He says this directly while looking into Akane's eyes from a close distance, making her think he is very forward. Due to his honest nature, he straightforwardly expresses what he feels with pure sensibility, unintentionally pointing out contradictions in others or defeating their arguments. Combined with the aforementioned point about insults not affecting him, Akane describes him as "invincible." In fact, he is weak to being approached aggressively.

From the above characteristics, the story begins with him interpreting Akane being called "Grim Reaper" as "cool" and trying to become friends with her. Initially, he just wanted to be friends with Akane and interact with her, but gradually small changes begin to occur in his feelings towards her.
