Akane Nishimura is a quiet elementary school girl who starts out being bullied by her classmates. She has black hair to her shoulders, usually wears a headband, and hides her left eye behind her bangs. Even though she thinks her eyes look scary and lifeless, others think she is cute. Meeting new friends helps her gain confidence and brings some positive changes to her life. Thanks to the support of Taiyō Takada and others, Akane learns to be herself, makes new friends, and finds happiness at school.
