Umi Adachi is Akane Nishimura’s first female friend and the third girl she became close with. Umi has black hair styled in braids and wears glasses. She is 140cm tall and usually wears cardigans and pants, generally avoiding skirts. She lives in a single-family house with her parents, making her family a household of three. Her father teaches biology at a school.
Umi is gentle-natured and has a strong sense of justice, as well as a mature way of thinking for her age. She likes living creatures, especially snakes and lizards. Umi has romantic feelings for Daichi Hino, which became the reason she became closer with Akane Nishimura. Akane is aware of Umi's feelings for Daichi, and the two girls call each other “Akane-chan” and “Umi-chan.”
Due to her feelings for Daichi, Umi initially felt jealous of Aina, who appeared later, but once a misunderstanding was resolved, she became friends with Aina as well. Umi is uncomfortable with bullying or malicious remarks directed at Akane and tries to oppose them out of her sense of justice, although her gentle personality sometimes prevents her from being confrontational. When Taiyō Takada called Akane "Shinigami," Umi noticed Akane's reaction and understood her feelings toward Taiyō, quietly supporting their relationship afterward.
