Tago’s physical appearance is not fully described, but he carries a special short blade called the Tago Dagger.

Tago is clever and very good at talking his way out of trouble.

He loves to collect information and plan things.

Even though he is sneaky, he is not very dangerous.

He enjoys making plots, but most of the time, he fails and has to run away.

Tago is also a bit of a comic relief in the story, making tense moments lighter.

Tago is not strong in battle.

His greatest skills are gathering information and using his words wisely.

He once owned a powerful short blade called the Tago Dagger, but Tsukiko took it from him.

He tries to use magic but is not very successful.

Later, he finds weapons that don’t rely on magic, but these are destroyed as well.

• Senya: The person who destroyed Tago’s thief group and became his rival.
• Tsukiko: Took the Tago Dagger from Tago.
• Kenki Happomatsu and Mudo: Sent by Tago to attack Senya.
• Songen: Tago’s mentor after he changes his ways.
• Tako: Tago’s child, who works for Songen and is the exact opposite in personality.

Formation of the Hyakki Yako

Tago, using his skills in talking and gathering information, created a group of thieves called the Hyakki Yako.

Defeat by Senya and Revenge Attempts

The group was destroyed by Senya. Tago tried to get revenge by sending Kenki Happomatsu and Mudo after Senya, but they failed.

Loss of the Tago Dagger

Tago owned a special short blade, but Tsukiko took it from him.

Involvement with Hisahide Matsunaga

Tago started calling himself Kashin Koji and got close to Hisahide Matsunaga, even taking part in the Eiroku Incident.

Studying Magic After Eight Years

Eight years after the start of the second part, Tago was studying magic to defeat Senya.

He lost control of his research, but Senya saved him.

Before disappearing, Tago left with the words, "Remember this!"

Becoming Comic Relief

Tago made many more plans, but each one failed.

He became a funny character who runs away after losing.

Later Adventures and Change of Heart

Tago later got a new weapon that didn’t use magic, but Senya destroyed it.

He was forced to help look for Nadare (the Dragon).

He traveled with Senya’s group and Mudo to the headquarters of the Dankai Order, claiming his role was over.

Still, he stayed to look for new magic tools after his gun was destroyed.

In an abandoned underground lab, Tago found a weapon just like the one Barry had used.

After a big event in the sky with Yazen and his group, Tago began traveling with them.

After Yazen’s death from illness, Tago decided to stop his evil ways and became an apprentice to Songen thanks to Mudo’s advice.

Life Afterward

In the epilogue, Tago lets his child Tako do the apprentice work and spends his days in disguise, hanging out at gambling places on Earth.

About Tako

Tako is Tago’s child, but no one knows how Tako was born.

Tako works hard for Songen and is very honest and gentle, the opposite of Tago.

Tago’s story is full of funny escapes, wild plans, and lots of trying (and failing!) to be a real villain.

He is a lighthearted character who brings fun into the story with his clever tricks and silly moments.
