Tsukiko

Tsukiko is a young girl from the village where humans and shadows live together.

She looks gentle and often seems a bit shy, especially because of her slight stutter.

Tsukiko seems timid and is often quiet, especially around new people.

She is actually very determined and will do anything for her friends.

She feels very strongly about justice and wants to help others.

She can also be stubborn when she chooses a path, refusing to give up even if others tell her to stop.

She becomes cheerful and laughs easily, especially after some years, and she enjoys drinking.

Tsukiko lives in a special village where humans and the shadows of darkness share their home.

She is the best swordfighter among all the children in her village, showing surprising talent from an early age.

She discovers Senya and Shinsuke Hyoudou after their sudden arrival in the village, which leads to big changes in her life.

Tsukiko is very skilled with a sword, able to even defeat Senya and Shinsuke Hyoudou at first.

She has a special power to predict her enemy’s moves by looking into their eyes.

Later, she wields the Demon Sword Shakyo, a small sword that can control lightning, given to her by Shinsuke Hyoudou.

Even after gaining great skill, she learns special magic called “仙術” and other arts from Kokugetsusai’s spirit when she faces her limits against powerful beings like the Void Folk and the Mad God.

Tsukiko also uses a magic gourd and mystic amulets that can absorb spirit energy and unleash strong spells.

These tools were given by Kokugetsusai and can also return energy to the earth after being improved.

Tsukiko grows very close to both Senya and Shinsuke Hyoudou during their travels.

She eventually falls in love with Senya, and they get married.

She has many children and grandchildren with him and spends about 50 years together before passing away.

She sometimes gets jealous or nervous when other girls, like the snow woman Setsu, seem interested in Senya.

Tsukiko’s Encounter with Senya and Shinsuke

Tsukiko is the first person to find Senya and Shinsuke Hyoudou when they crash into her village while running away.

She quickly befriends them and impresses both with her sword skills.

The Tragedy with the Mad God

Soon after meeting Senya, a battle breaks out in the village against the Mad God.

During the fight, Tsukiko’s father is killed.

Although many would blame Senya for this, Tsukiko does not.

Instead, she blames herself for being too weak to protect her father.

The Journey for Strength

After her father’s death, Tsukiko promises herself to become stronger.

She demands to join Senya and Shinsuke Hyoudou on their journey out of the village, even though Shinsuke Hyoudou tells her to go home.

Her stubbornness reminds Shinsuke Hyoudou of his younger self, so he lets her travel with them.

Learning New Powers

Eight years after the battle with Mudo, Tsukiko grows even stronger with her sword.

She masters the Demon Sword Shakyo, which controls lightning, but it’s not enough against the Void Folk or Mad God.

She struggles but then starts training in magic and strange arts with Kokugetsusai’s ghost as her teacher.

Tsukiko learns to use a magic gourd and amulets, but during an attack against the Void Folk near Nadare, she almost gets dragged into the spirit world.

With help from many people, she escapes and continues her journey.

Returning Home and Family Life

As an adult, Tsukiko is cheerful, loves alcohol, and laughs a lot.

She is wary of Setsu the Snow Woman, who likes Senya.

Tsukiko eventually returns to her village, marries Senya, and lives a long, happy life with a big family before she passes away.

• Tsukiko’s main weapons are a Tago Sword, which she finds and loses, and the Demon Sword Shakyo, which uses lightning.
• She owns a gourd and spirit amulet cloak that absorb energy and allow her to cast powerful spells.
• Her cloak is later changed to return energy to the earth, but it is considered dangerous by the Mountain God, who asks Senya to destroy it.
