Arue has short, ringlet curls and always wears a bat-wing shaped hair clip.

She keeps an eye patch over her left eye, which she claims is to seal away powerful magic, but actually wears it just for fashion.

She is tall for her age and has a very developed figure, which makes her stand out among her classmates.

In some anime and game adaptations, her hair clip is replaced by a purple ribbon.

Arue is laid-back and acts boldly, not getting upset easily.

She likes cool and theatrical situations and loves to put on an act.

Her way of speaking is a bit masculine and casual.

Others sometimes find it hard to guess what she is thinking. Megumin says she is "an odd girl."

She is friendly, considerate, and shows a lot of care for her friends, even though she sometimes makes up stories that cause confusion.

Despite that, Arue is very supportive, especially towards Megumin and Yunyun.

Arue is 14 years old, making her the same age as Megumin and Yunyun.

She was third in school grades, right after Megumin and Yunyun.

Arue is from the Crimson Demon Village, where she was classmates with Megumin and Yunyun.

After graduating, she spends her days at home writing a book called "Crimson Demon Heroic Tales."

She is not interested in being an adventurer, wishing to be a professional writer instead.

Although she stays at home most of the time, she earns money from writing newspapers and books for the Crimson Demon community.

Arue is an "Arch Wizard," but she does not want to use these powers to adventure.

She claims her eye patch calms down her huge magical energy and protects her from brainwashing or charming spells. However, this is just a made-up story, and the eye patch is worn for style.

She has a talent for acting and creating dramatic stories.

Arue is close friends with Megumin and Yunyun. She often tries to support and cheer them up.

She keeps in touch with them by sending letters even after they move to Axel.

She tends to get along with Megumin’s friends, except for Kazuma Satou.

Her relationship with Kazuma Satou is bad because one of her stories caused misunderstandings, and Kazuma Satou tore up Arue’s manuscript out of anger.

After that, they often argue when they meet.

In some alternate stories, like certain games, she and Kazuma Satou get along much better, and she even helps him write a play script.

School Days and Friends

Arue went to school with Megumin and Yunyun in the Crimson Demon Village.

She was among the top students, right behind Megumin and Yunyun in her class.

Farewell Party and Gifts

When Megumin was about to leave the village, Arue attended her farewell party and gave her an eye patch as a parting gift.

She said it would control great magic power, but it was really just for fun.

Writing "Crimson Demon Heroic Tales"

After graduation, Arue stayed at home working hard on her novel, "Crimson Demon Heroic Tales."

She also started publishing newspapers for the Crimson Demon people.

Letters and Misunderstandings

Arue likes to send letters to her friends.

She once included one of her stories in a letter sent by Yunyun’s father to Yunyun.

Because of this, Yunyun misunderstood something, which led the party of Kazuma Satou coming to the Crimson Demon Village.

Conflict with Kazuma Satou

During a battle against Sylvia, Arue stayed on the sidelines and kept writing about the fight instead of joining in.

Later, she wanted Megumin to read and comment on her finished story.

Kazuma Satou became very angry about this and ripped her book apart.

Ever since then, Kazuma Satou and Arue have a rough relationship and often fight when they meet.

When Arue learned that Megumin liked Kazuma Satou, she even tried to push Megumin and Yunyun together instead.

Embarrassing Accident

In a special story by the original author, Megumin’s explosion spell accidently blew up both Arue and Yunyun, causing an embarrassing moment where both girls’ underwear was exposed.

Even Arue, who rarely gets embarrassed, was upset and attacked Megumin afterward.

Arue did not appear in the online version of the story but was added for the books.

Despite being a side character, she ranks high in popularity polls and is featured as a playable character in several games.

Some say she is similar to the early version of Megumin from the web series, due to her calm face, cool talk, and mysterious vibe.

Among her classmates, she is famous for being "amazing when undressed," and her grown-up looks started back when she was only 12 years old.

She believes that "writers should just make up stories as they go," and this sometimes causes trouble for others.
