Liebe

A low-ranking devil who possesses "Anti-Magic." He appeared as a shadow when Asta obtained the five-leaf grimoire. He resides in the grimoire that transformed from Licht's and is carried by Asta as an Anti-Magic grimoire. His laugh is "Gegege." When he first encountered Asta in the mental world, he appeared in a gigantic form, but in reality, he is almost the same height as Asta and has a similar facial appearance.

He often speaks in a condescending manner, especially towards other devils, and holds intense hatred towards Lucifero for reasons mentioned later. Originally from the underworld, he was born without magic power like Asta and was oppressed by other devils. Due to the whim of a high-ranking devil, he was thrown into the human world, where he was persecuted and eventually collapsed. He was then taken in by Lichita. Because he was from the underworld and had no magic power, he was unaffected by her body, which drained magic and life force. He lived peacefully as her child. However, one day, Lucifero tried to take over his body to manifest in the human world. Lichita sacrificed her life to seal him in the five-leaf grimoire with magic. She named him "Liebe" and loved him as her "son." He called her "Mom" and grew up in the grimoire, harboring hatred towards Lucifero and other devils. By cursing devils, he manifested Anti-Magic but couldn't leave the grimoire. When the grimoire chose Asta, he decided to use Asta's body for revenge against the devils.

He appeared in Asta's mental world when Asta lost consciousness due to Ladros' attack, intending to take over Asta's body to gain a physical form in the human world. However, Asta overpowered him. When Zagred was defeated, he mocked him while calling him "senpai" in the mental world. During Asta's battle with Dante, he lent Asta his power out of anger towards Lucifero, who was inside Dante, and took Asta's arm as a price. Later, Nacht brought him into the human world through the Devil-Binding Ritual. He attacked Asta using the swords stored in the five-leaf grimoire, but Asta's experience and effort as a Magic Knight, along with his resemblance to Lichita, prevented him from killing Asta. Asta saw through his unwillingness to kill and his capacity to hate and grieve for others, and proposed a contract of friendship. Realizing Asta was Lichita's child, he accepted, forming a different kind of contract than the usual Devil-Binding Ritual. They then fought together to defeat the devils of the Spade Kingdom. Initially, they couldn't achieve Devil Union, but after training, they managed to do so with a time limit, and together they defeated the ancient demon and headed to the Spade Kingdom.

Notably, as a low-ranking devil, Zagred was unaware of Liebe's existence, and although Lucifero had interacted with Liebe once in the past, he didn't recognize him because his magic hadn't manifested at that time.
