Born on October 4th, 15 years old. Height 155 cm. Blood type A. Born outside the blessed world, Hage. Likes the Sister. His magical attribute is "None" (Anti-Magic).

The protagonist of this work. He is an incredibly positive hot-blooded fool, loud and prone to overreactions. He is a boy with distinctive ash-colored wolf hair and blue eyes, wearing a bandana embroidered with a red cross on a black background.

He was abandoned as a baby in front of a church, and when picked up by the church, his clothes had "Asta" written on them. Since then, he has spent fifteen years as an orphan in poverty with Yuno, who was abandoned on the same day, and was roughly treated by other orphans in comparison to Yuno. Asta still thinks of the church people as family and continues to write letters with Yuno even after becoming a Magic Knight. To fulfill a promise made in childhood with Yuno, he aims to become the "Wizard King," the pinnacle of wizards.

In the world of magic, it is rare for someone to have no magical power at all. Due to his unique origin, he is always scorned in a world that values magical supremacy. However, his never-give-up attitude and actions in facing difficulties influence others' hearts, and he is often well-regarded by those he interacts with. Being an orphan with no blood-related family, he has decided to treat his comrades as family, insisting on cooperating and fighting together, even forcibly involving uncooperative partners in his pace. He is friendly to everyone regardless of age or gender, shows respect to those he respects, and does not allow others to ridicule them. He also works diligently (to the point where Yami tells him to take a break because he works too hard) and is relatively sensible among the Black Bulls. However, due to his upbringing, he lacks proper manners and does not show respect even to the king if he does not acknowledge them, which makes him unpopular among some nobles and royals.

Due to his lack of magical power and inability to use magic, his daily training compensates by giving him a robust physique and high physical abilities, allowing him to easily wield the heavy anti-magic sword, with exceptional dynamic vision and reflexes. His fighting style is considered reckless, but he has learned to fight "calmly" depending on the situation after being advised by Fuegoleon during the royal capital attack. Although he cannot sense magic, he uses this to his advantage by not being detectable by opponents' magic sensing, allowing him to surprise them. Under Yami's guidance in the Nean's cave, he learned to use "Ki" to predict opponents' movements, overcoming his inability to sense magic. His high-speed attacks in coordination with Finral and Vanessa are effective even against the Third Eye's Vetto and Fana. His weakness is long-range attacks; if his anti-magic sword is known, he is often attacked unilaterally from a distance, and Vetto pointed out that he is weak against opponents with physical abilities enhanced by magic that surpass his own.

During the award ceremony, he was not given a grimoire, and when Yuno was attacked by Revchi, he tried to help but was beaten by Revchi, who confronted him with the fact that he had no magical power, almost making him give up. However, after hearing Yuno's words, he was inspired again, and as if resonating with his will and determination, he was chosen by the "Anti-Magic Grimoire," and after defeating Revchi with the Demon-Destroyer Sword, he reaffirmed his childhood promise with Yuno.

Although it seemed hopeless for him to join the Magic Knights due to his lack of magical power, his unwavering attitude to become the Wizard King was favored by Yami Sukehiro, and he was recruited into the "Black Bulls," the worst-ranked Magic Knights squad. Through overcoming numerous missions, he deepened his bonds with the members of the Black Bulls, and during the battle with the Eye of the Midnight Sun in the royal capital, he was promoted to Junior Third Class Magic Knight.
