A former classmate from high school, he suddenly began to see demons around the end of summer vacation and was deeply frightened by the phenomenon. What helped him cope was meeting Rin Okumura, and gradually, they grew closer. Eventually, he became close friends with Rin Okumura and, through him, naturally became acquainted with the Exorcist Cram School students, strengthening his bonds with them over time.
