Okuyasu Yokomizo

In his 30s. A seventh-dan shogi player. Slender with glasses. Since his introduction, he is often seen hanging out with Mitsuo and Issei, and his interactions with Rei have increased. Friendly and with high communicative skills, he has offered words of victory to Rei, and has given Rei advice on how to interact with people at his first shogi event, approaching him with a bright demeanor.

He is known for being good at teaching shogi to beginners, capable of giving hints to his opponent and making even those at the edges of the action have a good time. When he is in charge of commentary during large shogi exhibitions, he excels at hosting and heating up the atmosphere. He was defeated by Sugikawa in the final round of the B1 league, which resulted in his demotion to the B2 league, and has since found Sugikawa to be a tough opponent. His master's words: "Women may betray you, but gaining pieces never will." He has a crush on Akari.
