Plot

The Incident in Middle School

When Sakuta was in middle school, a rumor started that he hurt another student badly (people called it “The Hospital Incident”).

Because of the rumor, he became very lonely at school.

The real story is that in his third year, Sakuta suddenly found his chest covered in blood and had to go to the hospital.

Meeting Shoko Makinohara

While staying in the hospital, Sakuta saw Shoko Makinohara, who said she was a second-year student at his future high school.

Meeting Shoko changed Sakuta’s life.

She helped him accept his sister Kaede Azusagawa, who had a split personality because of past trauma.

Starting Life in Fujisawa

To help Kaede Azusagawa start over, Sakuta and his father decided to move to Fujisawa.

Sakuta and Kaede Azusagawa started living together, away from their old life.

School Life and No Cell Phone

Sakuta went to Minegahara High School in Kamakura because Shoko Makinohara went there.

On the day he learned he got in, Sakuta threw his phone into the sea because Kaede Azusagawa was afraid of it.

Even though Kaede Azusagawa later got over her fear, Sakuta still chooses not to use a phone.

College and Fame

In the 9th volume, Sakuta passes the entrance exam and gets into the same Statistics Science department at Yokohama City University as Mai Sakurajima.

Their relationship is well-known, making Sakuta famous at college.
