An elderly reporter from the Berck Newspaper Company. Due to his work, he is on friendly terms with Nile, who is responsible for maintaining public order. He is well-versed in the tacit understanding of not touching on criticisms of the monarchy or the activities of the First Central Military Police during his long career as a reporter, and he is also aware of the incident involving a miner who tried to go beyond the walls from underground in the past. While he had resolved to protect himself, his family, and his company by aligning his articles with the official stance of the monarchy in reporting the urban battle incident involving Levi and the First Central Military Police, he accompanied Hange, who raised objections, and learned the truth about the murder of Dimo Reeves, the innocence of the Survey Corps, and that the Fritz dynasty was a puppet regime. However, fearing the pressure from the monarchy, he was reluctant to publish, but was persuaded by Pyxis to issue an extra edition reporting the reality of the monarchy and the conspiracy of the First Central Military Police. Since this incident, he has become friendly with Hange and Levi, occasionally meeting at cafes to exchange information. Later, under the monarchy's announcement, he published the truth of the world, but he was troubled to learn that they, who had wished for the Titans to disappear, were the ones the world wished to see extinct. In the final episode, he is seen with a puzzled expression among the crowd cheering for the military.
