Midoriko Amano

Hime's classmate, Momoka. A youkai. The only daughter of the Amano liquor store. She witnessed a ghost (Rira) and tried to catch it with a net, but was caught instead and nearly strangled. She is a member of the rhythmic gymnastics club at school. She is often seen with Sawaki and Mizuki. Since being comforted by Kifune when she was little, she has had a single-minded affection for him.

In the second TV anime series, in episode 11, she witnesses the ghost (Rira) and tries to catch it with a net, just like in the original story, but ends up being caught instead. Unlike the original, the subsequent development involves her being partially undressed by tentacles, with her bra and shorts nearly being touched, before being rescued. There is no depiction of her being strangled. When rescued, she seems to have no particular issues and interacts with everyone with a smile. As the Senate begins a state of alert to minimize contact with the outside world, she disguises herself as Shiina on the last day she can go out to contact Kifune, who was already serving as a teacher (vice-principal) at the girls' high school. Her true identity is quickly revealed by the real Shiina, but she once again conveys her feelings to Kifune. Although Kifune initially admonishes her, due to Shiina's encouragement towards Kifune and Midoriko's own feelings, Kifune accepts this and promises to meet in November, after October (Kannazuki).
