Character Introduction

Edit
A founding member of the Outdoor Activities Club, she and Chiaki started the club together. She subtly supports everyone as a coordinator. Her birthday is March 4th. She has a calm personality and speaks in a relaxed Kansai dialect. Chiaki calls her "Inuko."
She is characterized by her thick eyebrows and fangs. She is playful and loves telling tall tales, but her eyes wander when she lies. She has a mature figure for a high school student, with a notably prominent chest among the main characters. She can cook with a Kansai twist.
She works part-time as a cashier to earn money for the club's activities. The supermarket "Zebra," where she works, is next to the liquor store where Chiaki works part-time. She likes "Caribou-kun," a character from the fictional outdoor shop "Caribou." Starting from Chapter 75 of the original work, she receives a road bike from her aunt and begins commuting to school by bike in her second year of high school (Chapter 78).
In Chapter 77, during a flower viewing camp with the Izu camp members from the previous month (Chapters 42 to 52), she and her sister Akari notice something off while comparing Genghis Khan (prepared by Toba with a ratio of 1:2 lamb to pork, marinated in Genghis Khan sauce). When they ask their grandmother Mineko over the phone, she reveals, "Our Genghis Khan has always been pork, not lamb." Aoi, who often tells tall tales, is tricked by her relatives for two consecutive days, following her aunt in Takayama the previous day.
Although her name is written in hiragana, it was originally intended to be submitted as "葵" in kanji. However, just before submission, her grandmother (Mineko) realized that "犬山葵" could be read as "Inu (dog) Wasabi," so they quickly changed it to the hiragana "あおい."
In the movie, she stays in Yamanashi Prefecture and works as a teacher at Kajikazawa Fujimi Elementary School in Fujikawa Town. Due to her caring nature, the children affectionately call her "Aoi-chan," but she still tells tall tales during lessons. Kajikazawa Fujimi Elementary School closes at the end of the movie, and Aoi transfers to another school.
