Ena Saitō

Rin's school friend who exchanges messages with her via social media even while Rin is camping. She usually styles Rin's hair into a large chignon on top of her head. Her birthday is September 1st. Although she is quite meddlesome, she supports Rin by mediating between Rin and other characters who find it hard to be honest. She is part of the go-home club and usually stays up late and sleeps in on holidays. She has some interest in camping and is seen by Chiaki as a key person in getting Rin to join the Outdoor Activities Club, but she hasn't transferred yet due to her attachment to the go-home club.

She likes to sneak up on people and add quirky touches to their hairstyles as a prank. She owns a Chihuahua named "Chikuwa" and often brings him along or talks about him in the series. During a Christmas camp at Asagiri Plateau with Rin and Nadeshiko, she dressed Chikuwa in bunny ear hood, earning the nickname "Owner of the Rabbit Dog" from Rin.

She prioritizes cold resistance and safety over cost performance when it comes to camping gear. During her first outing with the Outdoor Activities Club, she surprised everyone with her ultra-expensive winter mountaineering sleeping bag, the "Nanga Alpinist 800."

Everyone called her by her last name from her debut in chapter 2 until her full name was revealed in chapter 20. After chapter 24, Nadeshiko and Chiaki begin calling her by her first name. She works a part-time job sorting New Year's cards during the holiday season and later at a convenience store near Nadeshiko's house by Uchibuna Station (in the TV drama, near Minobu Station).

A few days after their Izu camping trip, Chiaki asks her for a haircut, and she shows off a dog tent for Chikuwa in her home's yard while cutting Chiaki's hair. Though she jokes around with hairstyle suggestions like a topknot and using clippers, she ends up giving a normal haircut.

In her second year of high school, Rin also requests a haircut from her, but she hesitates, fearing it will end her playful hair art with Rin. She eventually announces on social media that she is graduating from styling Rin's hair artistically and gives her a haircut. Instead, she starts playing with Ena's hair, who was present at the time.

In the movie, she lives alone in Yokohama, working as a pet groomer in a local pet salon. On her days off, she goes back home and takes Chikuwa out for walks and drives.
