Pilemon NOTOS GREYRAT

Pilemon NOTOS GREYRAT is a high-ranking noble of the Asura Kingdom, serving as the head of the Notos Greyrat house and ruling over Milbots Territory.

He is seven years younger than his elder brother Paul Greyrat and is the father of Luke Notos Greyrat.

He is affiliated with the Second Princess faction led by Ariel Anemoi Asura, but follows her only for selfish, pragmatic reasons rather than loyalty.

When Ariel flees the Asura Kingdom to escape repeated assassination attempts by the First Prince faction, Pilemon soon switches sides and ingratiates himself with Darius Silva Ganius, effectively betraying Ariel.

Pilemon gained a notorious reputation both as a person and as a lord, being derided by many as a “worthless fool,” a “sneaky rat,” and a “piece of trash.”

Former residents of his territory, such as Sara, resent him deeply, and even his own retainers whisper that things would have been better if Paul Greyrat had become the family head instead.

He is also despised by his uncle Sauros Boreas Greyrat, with whom he has a very poor relationship.

After the Fittoa Region Displacement Incident leads to Sauros’s political downfall, Pilemon is goaded on by Darius Silva Ganius and plays a role in driving Sauros to execution.

Despite his many flaws, he is considered more decent as a father than his own abusive parent, Amarant, and his son Luke views him with a degree of sympathy.

Luke believes that his father is, in his own way, doing his best within the constraints of his position and sense of duty to the house.

Paul Greyrat is Pilemon’s older brother and, in many ways, his opposite in personality and reputation.

However, after Paul left home to become an adventurer, he grew so distant from the family that he could barely even recall Pilemon’s face, and his emotions toward his younger brother faded into indifference.

Later, when Pilemon shifts from the Second Princess faction to the First Prince faction, it is Darius whom he tries to ingratiate himself with to secure his own position.

Ariel Anemoi Asura

Ariel Anemoi Asura is the Second Princess of the Asura Kingdom and the figurehead of the faction Pilemon initially supports.

However, his support is shallow and purely self-serving.

When she is targeted repeatedly by assassins from the First Prince faction, Pilemon advises her to flee the kingdom and build her strength in another land.

This advice, while seemingly protective, also allows him to distance himself from a losing side and reduce his own risk.

After Ariel leaves Asura, Pilemon abandons her entirely.

He goes so far as to send his own soldiers as assassins to pursue her on behalf of her enemies, completing his betrayal of the princess he once officially backed.

Sara

Sara is a former resident of Pilemon’s domain who holds a deep grudge against him.

Her hatred stems from his failure to properly respond when monsters overflowed from a forest and attacked a village, causing severe damage and suffering.

Pilemon’s refusal to dispatch his knights effectively in this crisis directly led to the devastation of Sara’s home.

For people like her, Pilemon is not just a bad ruler in the abstract; he is the very reason their lives were ruined.

Amarant

Amarant is Pilemon’s father and a classic example of a toxic, abusive parent.

Compared to Amarant, Pilemon appears almost “normal” as a father.

The contrast between them explains why Luke and others can still see some redeeming qualities in Pilemon within the private sphere of family.
