Initially, he acknowledged Midorima's skills but was resentful of his self-centered attitude. However, after Midorima's defeat to Seirin, he began to trust him as he started playing with a team-oriented mindset. Despite his height, he cannot dunk, so he primarily scores through layup shots. Since his family runs a vegetable shop, he often brought watermelons and other fruits to practice as refreshments.

He has a younger brother who is expected to join the team next year.
