The watchdog of the "PET FOOD" pet food store in Orange Town.

After the death of his master Hocker, he took over and protected the pet food store.

Even when the Buggy Pirates occupied the town, he stayed at the store and met Luffy and his friends, who were fleeing from Buggy. He accidentally swallowed the key to Luffy's cage. Later, his store was burned down by Moji and Richie, but he showed gratitude to Luffy, who avenged him. After the fight, he defended Luffy and his crew, who were misunderstood as villains by the townspeople.

In the New World arc, the store has evolved into a giant pet food shop, and there is a fountain with a statue of Chouchou wearing a straw hat and holding a tattered bag of pet food.
