Tae is close to the main group, has a warm and lively personality, and is especially good friends with Kaoru Kamiya. She is known for using "uchi" to refer to herself, a trait that hints at her local roots. Tae likes gossip and romance stories but sometimes worries about her own age. She is 161 cm tall, weighs 48 kg, was born in June 1849 under the sign of Gemini, and has blood type AB. With her delicate, narrow eyes and kind-hearted nature, Tae plays an important role in supporting Kenshin’s group at "Aka Beko." She and Kaoru are longtime friends and share secrets and small worries together. Tae sometimes lends an ear to the group's problems and helps by providing a lively atmosphere and home-cooked food.

First Appearance and Early Role

Tae appears from the second episode of the anime’s first season. Sometimes, she is seen opening her eyes. She quickly becomes someone the main cast can rely on, providing both information and a place to gather.

Kyoto Arc

At the start of the Kyoto Arc, Sagara Sanosuke tries to ask Tae for money for his trip, but she firmly refuses. Tae also helps by telling Kenshin and his friends about Yahiko Myoujin’s situation during this time, showing she keeps up with her friends' problems.

Tae’s favorite hobby is collecting ukiyo-e (Japanese prints), especially ones made by Tsukioka Tsunan.
She remains single at age 30.
