Shouta Aizawa

A male teacher at U.A. High School and the homeroom teacher of Class 1-A. He has long hair and a scruffy beard, giving him a worn-out appearance. He values rationality and despises wasting time. Due to his personality, he believes that "there is nothing more cruel than half-heartedly allowing someone to chase their dreams" and quickly dismisses those he sees as having no potential. He has a record of 154 expulsions, including expelling an entire class last year. Although he may seem cold and strict, his decisions are made with the survival of the harsh realities of hero work in mind, showing his own form of kindness. He often clashes with All Might due to differences in teaching methods, but he pays close attention to his students, understanding their relationships and psychological states well, and is caring. Recovery Girl has commented that he is surprisingly sweet, and his willingness to risk his life for his students has earned their respect and admiration, to the extent that even Tomura Shigaraki, who dislikes heroes, acknowledges him as cool.

He dislikes media exposure and is not very well-known. He chose the hero name "Eraser Head," which was thought up by his high school friend Mic, because he found it bothersome to think of one himself. When performing hero activities, he wears goggles to prevent others from discerning his gaze. He also uses a "capture weapon," a belt woven with carbon fiber and a special alloy, which he wraps around his neck, allowing him to handle close combat.

His past as a student at U.A. is revealed in "Vigilantes." Back then, he was a gloomy young man, unsure of how to utilize his "Quirk" in hero activities. He often hung out with Yamada (later known as Present Mic) and Shirakumo. He also referred to Midnight by her real name, and they shared the same internship location along with Yamada and Shirakumo.

"Quirk": Erasure

While he gazes at someone, he can erase the person's "Quirk." The effect is canceled with a blink. During activation, his hair stands on end. He suffers from dry eye, which limits the duration he can use his Quirk, and he regularly uses eye drops. His ability affects those with "Emitter" and "Transformation" type Quirks, but it does not work on "Mutant" type Quirks, where the ability is a physical feature of the body. He explains that a "Quirk" is a special mechanism added to the basic human body, collectively referred to as "Quirk Factor," and he merely temporarily halts this "Quirk Factor."
