Gin did this out of respect for his opponent's fighting spirit. The strain, however, caused his own arm to fracture, forcing him to retire and lose the match.

During the dropout tiebreak match at the U-17 training camp, Gin defeated his teammate, Koharu Konjiki.

He later challenged the first-stringers and faced Duke Watanabe, but his 108th Form Hadokyu was ineffective, and he lost by retirement after being hit by the "Duke Homerun."

Gin was selected as a member of the Japanese representative team for the U-17 World Cup.
