A scientist affiliated with the Europol Germany Branch, he is also the inventor of Zeronium and is responsible for the management and maintenance of Gesicht, an artificial intelligence. He holds a personal interest in the dreams that Gesicht experiences, and although he appears to be a good-natured person on the surface, he has a habit of speaking from a scientist’s perspective, which sometimes makes Gesicht smile wryly. Nevertheless, he is concerned about Gesicht’s stress and values him as a “friend” more than just a technician, even going so far as to directly confront his superiors to question whether secret procedures were conducted on Gesicht.
One day, he is attacked by someone but is saved by Epsilon. However, at the European Science Forum in Düsseldorf, his life is once again targeted by Professor Abullah. Captured by a robot sent as an enemy assassin, he finds himself in a life-or-death situation. Abandoned by Europol’s upper echelons, he is ultimately saved when Gesicht ignores directives and makes a deal with the enemy.
As he mourns Gesicht’s “death” in front of his gravestone, he is reunited with Professor Tenma and Kimberly. When he expresses joy at Atom’s revival, Professor Tenma asks him, “How far should a scientist go?” before departing.
