Senshi

Race: Dwarf. 112 years old. Hails from Izuganda in the Eastern Continent. A dwarf with the surname meaning "Seeker" in Dwarvish, characterized by his stout short stature, round big eyes, and lush black hair and beard, he is an axe-warrior who joined Laios and his party after witnessing their inexperienced attempts at monster cuisine, volunteering to accompany them with the goal of cooking a Red Dragon. He supports the party in terms of meals and fights alongside Laios in the front lines. Additionally, he can read ancient Dwarvish.

He carries various cooking utensils and seasonings at all times, including a mithril knife; claimed to be family heirlooms, he has adapted a shield passed down from generations into a pot and pot lid. He has been conducting research on monster cuisine in the dungeon for over ten years, self-sustaining his life there. He typically operates from the third layer of the dungeon and goes above ground once a month to stock up on seasonings, during which time he met Laios and others.

He starts unauthorized golems to serve as farm substitutes and collects waste from dungeon toilets to use as fertilizer, effectively performing maintenance within the dungeon. Due to his solitary activities in the maze, his skills as an adventurer are high, and his knowledge of the anatomy and habits of monsters is flexibly utilized in combat.

He is visibly disinterested, even disdainful, in handling tasks through magical shortcuts, taking pride in employing traditional techniques. However, he does not irrationally despise magic and accepts Marcille's magic when necessary, albeit reluctantly.

Even within the dungeon, he stresses the importance of food and health, disapproving of unbalanced nutrition, particularly for growing youths, sometimes to the point of obsession. This is evident from his tendency to cook medicinal herbs intended for immediate remedial use, suggestively saying, "Might as well cook it deliciously," indicating a strong commitment to culinary ethics, even acknowledging his own mistakes and commending Marcille.

Conversely, he is rather rough and careless with matters other than cooking, to the point where other dwarves are astonished or bemused by his inability to distinguish types of ore or his lack of forging skills and talent. His carelessness extends to his battle-axe maintenance, which broke easily during the fight with the Red Dragon, and he astonishingly re-forged an adamant shield, considered a family treasure, into a pot.

He is actually the sole survivor of a group of dwarf miners who discovered the dungeon 76 years ago, before the residents of "the island." At that time, a 36-year-old apprentice (equivalent to 14-15 years old in human age), he survived on his own, lacking the typical knowledge expected of dwarves.

76 years ago, lured by the treasures of the Golden Castle, his group ventured too deep and was cornered by a Griffin attack, losing their way out and forcing them to kill and eat even Senshi's beloved pack horse, Anne, as they ran out of food. Protecting the younger Senshi while falling one by one, they fed him a soup made from the Griffin's meat before perishing, although Senshi later harbored doubts that the "Griffin" might actually have been their flesh (a "Turtle Soup" scenario). He couldn't return to his homeland and continued to live alone in the dungeon, but Laios's knowledge later revealed that the attackers were not Griffins but a related species, Hippogriffs, and the soup was made from their meat, which freed Senshi from his long-held anguish.

Expressed concerns about the ease of resurrection within the maze, but upon hearing "the soul can be likened to an egg," he compared Falin's condition to bacon and eggs and optimistically suggested a method to separate her soul using the irreversible nature of consumed dragon meat.
