Obanai Iguro

Obanai Iguro, the Serpent Pillar, uses "Serpent Breathing." He is 21 years old, a relatively short man with heterochromia and his mouth covered by bandages. His right eye has poor vision, and under the bandages, his mouth is torn (details later). He speaks in a persistent, nagging manner that tends to berate others. He is accompanied by a male white snake named Kaburamaru, who assists the visually impaired Iguro. Iguro has feelings for Mitsuri.

His Nichirin Sword has a flamberge-like wavy blade and is non-drawable, thus the sheath is designed to open and close. During the Entertainment District Arc, he made critical remarks to Uzui after the battle.

Born into a matriarchal clan dominated by a female demon resembling a snake, the clan lived off wealth stolen by a snake demon and offered their own newborns as sacrifices. Iguro was the first male born in 370 years and was raised in a cell as a sacrifice due to his heterochromia, to increase the amount of food. Once, he was made to meet the snake demon, who split his mouth to drink his blood. He decided to escape to survive, gradually filing away the wooden bars of his cell with a stolen hairpin, during which time he also met Kaburamaru. After his escape, he was caught but was saved by Shinjurou Rengoku, the Flame Pillar at the time. His clan, about 50 members, was annihilated by the enraged snake demon after Iguro's escape. The only surviving cousin verbally abused him for irrational reasons.

Due to his background, he believes his blood is tainted and will remain so until his death. Although attracted to Mitsuri, he does not believe they are compatible or destined to be together, and has no intention of confessing his feelings.

During the Pillars Meeting, he clashed with Tanjirou and arrived at the Entertainment District after the battle had ended. His significant involvement did not occur until the fight against Muzan. In the battle against Muzan, he fought with a bright red sword but was blinded after both eyes were slashed. He was the first to intervene in the fight between Muzan and Tanjirou, sharing his field of vision with Kaburamaru through Yushiro's Blood Demon Art, the Paper Eye Spell, and helped corner Muzan with Tanjirou and other corps members. After Muzan's demise, he confessed his feelings to Mitsuri, promising to be together in the next life, and they both died exhausted. Kaburamaru, having lost his friend, was entrusted to Kanao through Giyu.

First Form: Serpent Slash - Releases a single slash with an unpredictable trajectory.

Second Form: Narrow Head's Venom Fang - Delivers a slashing attack with tremendous fighting spirit.

Third Form: Coiling Constriction - Like a giant snake constricting its prey, it slashes the opponent from all angles.

Fourth Form: Twin-Headed Serpent - Releases a slashing attack with a trajectory resembling intertwined twin serpents, difficult to predict and avoid.

Fifth Form: Long Serpent - Delivers a slashing attack with significant undulation.
