Yuri Egin

Yuri Egin is the mother of Rin Okumura and Yukio Okumura in Blue Exorcist. She came from a once-powerful, now fallen family, and spent much of her childhood homeless after losing her mother. Despite a hard start in life, she grew into a kind and caring person, known for her love of demons and her wish for people and demons to understand each other. She worked as an exorcist but never truly fit in because of her gentle nature. Yuri’s life took a big turn when she met Satan, forming a complex bond that eventually led to tragedy. At age 25, Yuri became the caretaker of Satan after he escaped from containment. She watched over him for over a year, helping him grow intellectually and emotionally. Their bond grew, but after Satan escaped, events spiraled out of control.

The Asylum Incident and Betrayal

Three years later, Satan returned to the facility, taking people hostage and demanding supplies as his vessel's body was failing. Yuri bravely snuck in to convince Satan to release the hostages. Though almost killed, she chose to stay by Satan’s side, believing she could help him. They tried to escape but were betrayed, resulting in Satan and Yuri being captured.

Pregnancy, Escape, and Death

It was discovered Yuri was pregnant with Satan's children. Because the babies inside her were powerful, no one could harm her. The Order kept her guarded and tried to kill her after her twins’ birth, but Shirou Fujimoto helped her escape with the newborns. However, her body was weak from giving birth, and she died soon after. Shirou cremated her so her body wouldn’t be used for experiments.

After Death

As a spirit, Yuri visited Satan in the void, trying to show him love and understanding. But Satan, obsessed with the physical world, rejected her and destroyed her spirit completely.
