Philomela Sergeant

Introduced in the Academy Arc, 15 years old. A classmate of Chise. Philomela is the cousin of Rian and the granddaughter of Elizabeth, the current head of the Sergeant family, which specializes in espionage. She has a dark personality, rejects others, and refuses to talk to anyone except for Alcyone, an artificial spirit created by her father, with whom she can converse properly. Due to her family's upbringing, her body rejects any food or drink given by others. Her parents are Adam, Elizabeth's son, and Iris, who was sold to him as a subject for his experiments. Adam, realizing the abnormality of his family and mother, decides to elope with Iris, leading to Philomela's birth. Later, their family was attacked by assassins sent by Elizabeth, resulting in the death of her parents, with only Alcyone and Philomela brought back to Elizabeth.

Treated coldly by her clan as the daughter of the woman who stole the heir, especially by her grandmother Elizabeth, who abuses her severely. Despite her capabilities, she is constantly denied by her grandmother, never acknowledged for her efforts, and lives in an environment where she is never valued, similar to Chise's past hardships. Now, she no longer shows her true capabilities or will, merely following her grandmother's orders. The promise that she might meet her deceased parents if she obeys is her only hope. Chise takes a particular interest in Philomela, seeing similarities with her past self. As a child, Philomela was cheerful and often played with Rian.

The perpetrator who attacked academy students and teachers using the forbidden book "Testament of Carnamagos" to steal their magical power, acting under Elizabeth's orders to resurrect her son Adam. Due to her contact with a foreign god through the forbidden book, she was referred to by the goddess Morrigan as a priestess bound by a foreign god. During the incident, most of her parents' memories were sealed by Elizabeth's magic to control her, and she was cursed to be unable to think for herself (abused) and kept alive for the purpose of being a sacrifice for Adam's resurrection. Her body deteriorated due to the erosion from the forbidden book, losing the fingertips of all fingers except her thumbs, but she was rescued by Chise and did not lose her life. She regained her parents' memories through information recorded by Alcyone just before her disappearance, and mourned the insufficiency of her own records. After the incident, freed from all shackles, Philomela expressed her wish to make potpourri with Chise, finally able to voice her own desires.
