When Aru Akise investigates, he finds a third body in Yuno’s house – it turns out to be another Yuno Gasai.
The Truth About Yuno
Aru Akise discovers that the Yuno in the story is actually the “real” Yuno from the first world, who became a god and went back in time.
She killed the Yuno from the second world and took her place, hoping to bring Yukiteru back to life.
The third body is the second world Yuno.
This is why sometimes, Yuno calls Yukiteru “Amano-kun” (first world) or “Yukki” (second world).
In the first world, Yuno and Yukiteru became the last diary holders.
They couldn’t kill each other, so Yuno pretended to die, became god, and tried to revive Yukiteru.
When she found it was impossible, she restarted the world, killed her second world self, and switched lives.
The Endless Loop
After joining with Mur Mur, the world’s game-master, Yuno travels through time over and over to be with Yukiteru.
Every time, she tries to have a happy life with him, even if she has to kill or hurt people again.
Once, in the third world, she stabbed her father.
But seeing her loving parents in the third world and watching her own past made Yuno doubt what she was doing.
She realized she wanted to depend on anyone who would love her – not just Yukiteru.
In the end, Yuno closed Yukiteru in a “world of dreams” where everything was perfect for him, but he broke free to save her.
She decided to let go, sacrificing herself so Yukiteru could be happy.
The Ending
In the third world, Yuno lives happily with her kind parents and makes friends, but she always feels something is missing.
Mur Mur later gives her back the memories of all the past Yuno Gasais.
Eventually, Yuno remembers Yukiteru and uses her past powers as god to break the wall between worlds.
She reunites with Yukiteru, who waited for her for thousands of years, and together, they finally see the stars – their happy dream comes true.
Yuno Gasai is one of the most famous “yandere” characters in anime.

In a special chapter, Hanako and the Future Diary, Yuno and other characters are treated as fairy tale figures by the main cast from the author’s past work.
According to the author, Yuno is (for some reason) the true main character of the series.
