Hitoshi Shinsou

A male student in Class 1-C of the General Department, characterized by his spiky hair and dark circles under his eyes.

He had dreamed of becoming a hero for many years, but his "Quirk" was incompatible with the entrance exam methods of the U.A. Hero Course, so he enrolled in the General Department instead. After facing Izuku Midoriya in the final tournament of the sports festival, he caught the attention of Shouta Aizawa, who drilled him in the use of capture weapons, and he transferred to the Hero Course after participating in the joint combat training of Classes A and B as a test.

"Quirk": Brainwashing

He can control those who respond to his questions with the intent to brainwash. The degree of susceptibility varies from person to person. Concentration is required only at the moment of brainwashing.

It is recognized by himself and others as a "Quirk" suitable for a villain.

Originally, he could not give complex commands or make the controlled person speak, but by training his Quirk, he made it possible to do so.

Brainwashing cannot be done without letting the target hear his own voice directly; hence, it does not activate through loudspeakers or microphones, and the brainwashing can be undone by a significant impact. Moreover, while he can maintain control over multiple people, he can only brainwash one person per question.

Persona Cord

From the joint combat training, he wears a special equipment mask, the Persona Cord, which allows him to mimic others' voices and brainwash them by transforming and resonating the numerous plates inside the mask. At the same time, it has a significant effect when it causes suspicion and distrust among his peers.
