Both share the same name and similar appearance, which becomes the key reason Human Fana’s body is later used as a vessel for Elf Fana’s soul.

She is one of the Three Eye, bearing a magic stone embedded in her forehead and empty, hollow eyes during her time as an enemy.

Her magic revolves around fire, recovery, spirit magic using the fire spirit Salamander, and later mineral-creation magic.

Background and Early Life

Human Fana was an orphan from the Diamond Kingdom and selected as a candidate for the kingdom’s magic warrior program.

She trained together with Mars, forming a close bond and eventually developing romantic feelings for him.

In the final test of the program, the orphans were forced into a kill-or-be-killed survival trial.

To save Mars, Fana willingly allowed herself to be killed by him, sacrificing herself so he could live.

Experimentation and Magic Stone Implant

Although she was struck down, Fana briefly came back to life.

Because of this, the Diamond Kingdom scientist Morris attached a magic stone to her forehead, trying to amplify her magic power.

However, because she was on the verge of death and her magic did not increase as expected, Morris discarded her as a failure.

Fana was left for dead until Licht (actually Patry impersonating Licht) found her, noticing how strongly she resembled the elf Fana in both face and magic.

Patry used forbidden magic called “Evil Eye” on her, turning Human Fana’s body into a vessel and allowing Elf Fana’s soul to take over.

Human Fana’s consciousness was suppressed, and for a long time she existed only as a buried memory within the possessed body.

In her original human life, Fana was bright, kind, and gentle.

She deeply cared about Mars and treasured ordinary, warm things like sunlight.

Even after possession, her buried feelings for Mars remained strong enough to reach the surface later.

Her love and memories become the key to breaking the forbidden spell controlling her body.

Liberation and Later Life

During the battle in the Witch’s Forest, Mars’s voice manages to reach the original Human Fana inside the possessed body.

Hearing him awakens her memories and shakes off the hatred that dominated her.

Asta then destroys both the magic stone in her forehead and the Evil Eye, breaking the forbidden magic and freeing Human Fana from possession.

After the conflict is resolved, Human Fana survives and begins living quietly with Fanzell Kruger and the others, waiting for Mars to return.

Nature of Elf Fana

Elf Fana is the original elf whose soul is tied to the spirit of hatred and allied with the Eye of the Midnight Sun.

By nature she is bright and kind, similar to Human Fana, but forbidden magic twists her personality into something unstable and vengeful.

After possession, Elf Fana inhabits Human Fana’s body via the Evil Eye, becoming one of the Three Eye.

Her favorite phrase becomes “I hate it” or “I hate you,” reflecting her hatred-driven speech and actions.

Possessed Form: “Despair Fana”

In Human Fana’s body, Elf Fana bears a magic stone on her forehead and vacant eyes, embodying despair and hatred.

She becomes the host of the fire spirit Salamander, which massively boosts her offensive power through spirit fire magic.

She can also unlock a third eye, causing Salamander to grow into a gigantic form and granting her access to mineral-creation magic.

This version of Fana is often called the “Fana of Despair,” representing the twisted combination of elf hatred and forbidden magic.

Appearance in Nean’s Cave

Elf Fana first appears to rescue Patry (still acting under the name Licht) after he collapses in Nean’s cave.

She heals his severe wounds with her flame recovery magic while simultaneously fighting Nozel Silva.

Their battle remains unresolved because Patry suddenly goes berserk.

Elf Fana withdraws without finishing the fight, prioritizing Patry’s condition over the duel.

Witch’s Forest Invasion

Later, Fana leads several magic users into the Witch’s Forest to obtain a magic stone located there.

Asta and his allies intercept them, and a fierce battle breaks out.

As she is pushed to her limits, Elf Fana tries to self-destruct, planning to destroy herself and her enemies in a massive explosion.

However, Mars calls out to her, and his voice reaches the suppressed Human Fana deep within.

Human Fana’s memories resurface, and the forbidden magic begins to unravel.

Elf Fana’s soul is forced out of the body when Asta destroys the magic stone and Evil Eye, freeing the human vessel.

Large-Scale Reincarnation

Later, Patry activates a large-scale reincarnation spell that summons elf souls back into prepared bodies in the modern era.

Because of this, Elf Fana is reincarnated a second time, now into an artificial clone body created by Sally.

This new body appears about 15 years old and is entirely separate from Human Fana.

Unlike the first possession, Elf Fana’s soul fully settles into this new body and becomes stable after the events in the Shadow Palace.

New Power and Shadow Palace Battle

When she is revived in this clone body, Elf Fana temporarily lacks Salamander and cannot use flame spirit magic.

However, exposure to magic “from the other world” greatly increases the potency of the flames she can control on her own.

In the Shadow Palace, she fights against Noelle Silva, showcasing enhanced flame magic even without Salamander.

Her abnormal resilience and recovery also become evident, with her body able to return even from catastrophic damage.

After the defeat of Zagred, Elf Fana’s soul and her clone body stabilize due to the second reincarnation.

She chooses to remain in the present era alongside Rhya and Vetto.

Life in Elysia

After the conflict, Elf Fana goes on to live in Elysia, the hidden sanctuary of the elves located in a secret region.

There, she begins a quieter life among other elves who survived or returned in the modern world.

Despite her past as a symbol of hatred, her original bright and kind nature re-emerges.

She starts to move forward, no longer consumed by revenge, and finds a new place and purpose in Elysia.

Fana’s magic can be divided into several types, depending on which version of her is active and which body she inhabits.

Her overall specialties are fire, recovery, spirit magic, and mineral-creation magic.

Flame Recovery Magic

Phoenix Robe

Fana uses fire to envelop injured parts of the body, healing wounds with burning light.

In Elf Fana’s second reincarnation body, which has been exposed to otherworldly magic, Phoenix Robe becomes incredibly overpowered.

In that state, even if her upper body is blown off, she can instantly regenerate and revive.

This grants her a near-immortal level of recovery, making her extremely difficult to kill.

Flame Spirit Magic

These techniques are available only when Salamander is residing within Fana, specifically in her “Despair Fana” period.

They combine Fana’s own flame magic with Salamander’s immense power as a fire spirit.

Salamander’s Breath

Salamander releases a highly concentrated breath of fire from its mouth.

This attack is extremely destructive, capable of incinerating enemies and terrain with overwhelming heat.

Salamander’s Claws

Salamander’s claws are wrapped in powerful flames, turning its physical attacks into lethal slashes.

Fana uses this to combine large spirit movements with close-range destructive power.

Mineral Creation Magic

Mineral creation magic becomes usable when the third eye on Fana’s forehead opens.

At that moment Salamander also grows in size, and Fana gains access to mineral-based spells through Human Fana’s body.

Harpe

Fana creates a large number of knives formed from mineral ore and hurls them at her enemies.

After her second reincarnation and the defeat of Zagred, the curse of hatred fades.
