Ares Srowa

A member of the Hero's party with the blessing of the "Sage." Born into a ducal family that fell into decline due to the rebellious actions of his grandparents, he uses the dismissal and expulsion of Gideon (Red) as a stepping stone to restore his family home and usurps the leadership of the party. The claim that "Gideon left the party on his own" is thinly recognized as a lie by the members, and trust in him is low. He is also overly polite yet rude, has high pride, and never admits his own failures.

The Sage's unique skill, "Appraisal," allows him to see through and understand the nature of others' blessings. He judges human value based on the blessings themselves and whether people live according to their blessings. After restoring his family home, he harbors the ambition to use the achievements of defeating the Demon Lord and the status of being the Hero's companion to become an emperor ruling the world, creating a world where all humans live according to their blessings. He also looks down on demi-humans, which caused poor relations with Yarandrala.

He leads Ruti as the raison d'être of the Hero to defeat the Demon Lord, but his goal is solely to use the Hero's blessing to restore his family home, completely disregarding Ruti's personal circumstances.

He told Gideon that he was "not a true companion (useful existence)," but he himself clung to the position of leading the party, trying to handle all the tasks that Gideon used to do without relying on his companions. As a result, he miscalculated the amount of supplies needed for the journey, had to turn back several times for resupply, failed negotiations due to his overly polite yet rude attitude, and lost his composure during combat, leading to repeated mishaps and nearly causing the party to collapse. Furthermore, driven to the brink of mental breakdown after being abandoned by Ruti, who regained her free will through the blessing of a demon, his hatred for Gideon (Red) intensified, and he was exploited by Sisandan. He attempts to assassinate Red to return Ruti to being the Hero, but with the support of Rit, Tisse, and Godwin, Red cuts off both his hands, depriving him of his magic, and he is ultimately slain.

The blessing of the "Sage" induces a strong desire for recognition, which led to jealousy towards Gideon (Red), who held a more important position than himself.
