Hakurou

Originally a vassal of the Ogre tribe, he is a man with black eyes and long white hair tied back. In Volume 2 of the books, he becomes a subordinate of Rimuru, evolves into an Oni through Rimuru's naming, and rejuvenates from an old man to about middle-aged. With Rimuru's evolution into a Demon Lord species, he evolves into a Mystic Oni.

He is a half-blood between humans and the Ogre tribe, a grandson of Araki Byakuya, a swordsman of the Oboro style from another world, and has a child named Momiji with Kaede of the Tengu tribe. Known as the Sword Demon, he is a master of the sword and also deeply knowledgeable about cooking. Since his time in the Ogre tribe, he has been teaching swordsmanship to fellow villagers and various people including Gazel. In the Jura Tempest Federation, he serves as a combat instructor, training Rimuru, the executives, and combatants. After the federation's founding, he is appointed as the military advisor of the First Corps, and takes command of the Green Corps when the commander, Gobta, is on the field.

In combat, he uses a concealed sword and enhances his physical abilities with superior Ki fighting techniques, skillfully using swordsmanship and magic without being hindered by a low amount of magical power. He masters the ultimate technique of the Oboro style, the Eightfold Cherry Blossom - Eight Flower Flash, which allows him to instantly strike the enemy eight times in various combinations, and possesses the Unique Skill "Master of Martial Arts (Kiwarerumono)," which allows him to accurately read the flow of magical power and the magnitude of force.
