Tama is an 8-year-old girl who comes from Amigasa Village in the Kuri region of Wano Country. She dreams of becoming a kunoichi and lives with her master Hitetsu Tenguyama. Even though her life is poor, Tama is full of spirit and never forgets to pay back kindness. She admires Luffy D. Monkey, calling him "Aniki" (big bro). Tama has the powers of the Kibi Kibi no Mi, which allows her to produce magical millet dumplings that tame animals and SMILE fruit users. Her hope and courage help turn the tide during the big battle in Wano.
Tama has purple hair tied in the back in a bun, decorated with two hairpins each with a small flower.
Her clothes are a patched kimono, reflecting the poverty and hardship in Wano Country.
Her kimono is often worn-out due to the harsh environment and class system.
Tama calls herself "Ora" and ends her sentences with "yansu," which sounds friendly and unique.
She calls Luffy D. Monkey "Aniki" and adds the suffix "-chan" or "-kun" to her friends' names.
Even though she is very young, Tama can make big decisions quickly and bravely, like joining the raid on Onigashima or confronting dangerous enemies.
She is polite and has trouble accepting food from others since she is used to going hungry and sees receiving charity as embarrassing for a "samurai."
If someone helps her, Tama always tries to pay them back, sometimes even giving away her precious food.
She looks up to kunoichi and trains every day, hoping to become glamorous and strong.
Tama lost her parents when she was very young and was taken in by Hitetsu Tenguyama.
She makes a living by weaving hats and selling them in the town, but most of the time survives on millets.
She only gets to eat rice twice a year—on her birthday and for the New Year's festival.
Tama is determined and continues living in the ruined Amigasa Village even after it was destroyed by X. Drake's forces, hoping to keep her promise with Ace.
Tama ate the Kibi Kibi no Mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit.
She can pinch her cheek and pull out magical dumplings.
When animals or SMILE users eat these dumplings, they instantly become loyal to Tama.
Animals controlled this way see Tama as their only master and ignore other people’s commands.
Normal humans are not affected at all.
The effect lasts for about one month. After that, the animals or SMILE users remember everything that happened and can choose if they want to stay loyal to Tama.
These kibi dango do not actually fill the stomach, so they are not a replacement for real food.
If someone tries to forcefully pull her cheek, only Tama will feel pain and no dumpling will come out.
If Tama loses consciousness, the effect does not wear off. Only after a month will the magic go away.
Tama is not strong in direct fights, so she often uses her power for support or clever plans.

Meeting Ace
Four years before the main story, Amigasa Village was starving. Ace and his Spade Pirates landed there.
The villagers captured them to take their food, but Ace easily escaped. He chose not to retaliate and gave the villagers supplies.
Ace stayed in Wano for weeks. During this time, Tama grew close to Ace and begged to join his crew.
Ace refused, saying only strong people could be pirates, but promised that if Tama became a "glamorous kunoichi" by their next meeting, she could join him.
Tama taught Ace how to weave straw hats, leading to Ace later making one for Little Oars Jr.
One year later, X. Drake destroyed Amigasa Village. Tama, Komachiyo, and Hitetsu Tenguyama stayed behind, hoping for Ace's return.
First Meeting With Luffy
Tama went to town to buy rice for her birthday. She ran into Beasts Pirates and was captured after mentioning the Kozuki Family.
Luffy rescued her and she gave him rice as thanks, even though she rarely ate rice herself.
When Hitetsu discovered this, he was angry, but Tama insisted on repaying her debt to Luffy.
Tama drank polluted water to combat hunger, got sick, and Luffy took her to get help.
Learning Ace's Fate & Getting Help
At Okobore Town, she was cared for by Tsuru and O-Tsuru and received a special bowl of oshiruko for her birthday.
Tama then learned from Luffy that Ace was dead during the Marineford War. The news shocked her so much that she fainted.
Once healed, Tama was kidnapped by Holdem—a Beast Pirates officer who wanted to test her powers.
The Rescue and Escape
Holdem tortured Tama by pulling her cheeks to force out dumplings, but Luffy and others came to the rescue.
Luffy saved Tama, and she escaped with the horse SMILE user Speed (who had eaten a kibi dango).
On their way home, Kaido attacked them for Speed's betrayal. Tama and Speed both were badly hurt.
Healing and the Udon Prison Adventure
Inuarashi found and protected Tama. Chopper Tony Tony took care of her wounds, and she recovered.
Later, Tama traveled with Chopper Tony Tony, Momonosuke Kouzuki, and others to Udon Prison.
She met the amnesiac Big Mom (as O-Lin) along the way and talked about sweet red bean soup.
Tama used her power to tame the head jailer Babanuki, ordering him to misreport and prevent reinforcements.
The Onigashima Raid
On the night of the raid, Tama said goodbye to the Nine Red Scabbards and Momonosuke Kouzuki.
She sneaked onto a boat with Komachiyo, Hihimaru, Speed, Gazelleman, and Daifugo—her tamed Beast Pirates—in order to help from the inside.
She helped save Nami and Usopp from Ulti and Page One by using Hihimaru for backup.
Next, Tama worked with Nami and Usopp to deliver her dumplings to many gifters throughout Onigashima.
She was hurt by Ulti but still managed to reach the Live Floor, where she called out for her new allies to fight alongside the samurai and the rebel alliance.
Thanks to her quick thinking, about 300 gifters switched sides, massively helping Luffy’s friends win the battle.
After the fight, Tama became Shinobu’s apprentice to keep training as a kunoichi.
She promised Luffy she would become even better.
- During her first talk with Ace, Tama actually lied about her age, saying she was five when she was really four so she could seem old enough to join his crew.
- Her voice actress is Megumi Han, who is the daughter of Keiko Han (the voice of Toki Kouzuki).
- Despite her young age, Tama is a key player in the Wano story thanks to her rare Devil Fruit power and huge courage.
- Her favorite animal image is the sparrow.
Komachiyo is the large lion-dog who protects Tama and has always lived with her.
Hihimaru is the giant baboon tamed by Tama’s kibi dango, originally wild and used by the Beast Pirates as muscle.
Her life motto is to always pay back kindness, even at the cost of her own well-being.
Tama dreams of making Wano a better place and traveling the world as a true kunoichi.
