Denjiro

Denjiro is tall, standing at 306 cm, with sharp, narrow eyes and water-blue pompadour hair when disguised as Kyoshiro.

He usually wears flashy kimonos.

When he was younger, he looked calmer, wore glasses, and long, dark hair tied at the back.

After suffering from rage and sadness, his hair turned completely blue, and his eyes became more intense.

He often wore a wig in Kyoshiro style and gave up his glasses after 20 years, as they broke.

As a child, Denjiro was clever and good at bargaining, often buying valuable items cheaply.

He looked down on most adults but admired Oden deeply.

He is smart and skilled in dealing with money, taking care of finances for Oden's group.

Denjiro is loyal, brave, and cares deeply for his comrades.

As Kyoshiro, he pretended to be strict and harsh, especially around enemies and traitors.

Despite acting cold, he is good-hearted, secretly helping the poor.

Denjiro was born in the Flower Capital and lived as an orphan.

After losing Oden, Denjiro, filled with anger and sorrow, changed his appearance and personality, and created a new identity, Kyoshiro.

Denjiro is a swordsman of the highest level, able to cut giant galleon ships with a single slash.

He can skillfully deflect attacks from skilled swordsmen like Zoro Roronoa.

He has mastered both Armament Haki and Observation Haki.

His sword techniques include recreating the Oden Two-Sword Style "Paradise Totsuka" with other Scabbards, dealing damage to strong enemies.

Early Days and Meeting Oden

Denjiro was an orphan in the Flower Capital.

He met Kinemon, who got involved with the giant White Boar known as the "Mountain God."

When Oden appeared and saved the town by defeating the boar, Denjiro was so moved that he began to admire Oden deeply.

He and Kinemon followed Oden after he was banished from the capital, becoming his first retainers.

Denjiro and the other followers helped Oden turn Kuri from a lawless area into a peaceful land.

They were acknowledged officially as Oden's retainers and samurai.

Years with Oden and Kuri

Denjiro used his smarts to help run Kuri’s finances.

Sometimes money was tight, and together with other Scabbards, he even tried to steal from Yasuie Shimotsuki, but instead, Yasuie gave them money and wisdom.

Denjiro studied and trained hard, teaching others as well.

When Oden left Wano with the Whitebeard Pirates, Denjiro and the others managed Kuri in his absence.

Tragedy and Transformation

Twenty years ago, Oden returned but was betrayed by Orochi Kurozumi and Kaido.

Oden was executed, but not before helping his Scabbards escape.

Denjiro and Ashura Doji stayed to fight off the pursuers, letting the others escape.

Feeling powerless and angry at his inability to save Oden and Wano, Denjiro shut himself in a temple, and his appearance changed—his hair turning blue, his face full of anger.

People no longer recognized him, and Denjiro decided to use this new identity to get close to Orochi and wait for his chance.

Becoming Kyoshiro and Secret Deeds

Denjiro began calling himself Kyoshiro and gathered a gang that would become the Kyoshiro Family, quickly earning a reputation as a strong yakuza boss.

Thanks to his skills, Orochi took him as an official retainer.

Only to Kozuki Hiyori, who appeared as the courtesan Komurasaki, did he reveal his true identity and goal.

He protected her and helped her fake her death using a blood packet.

Denjiro also acted as a mysterious thief called "Ushimitsu Kozou," stealing money from the evil and giving it to the poor, becoming a hopeful symbol for the people.

Wano Arc Events

As Kyoshiro, Denjiro played both ally and enemy, protecting Kozuki Hiyori and keeping his true identity secret.

He fought with Zoro Roronoa and helped in critical moments.

During the Fire Festival, Denjiro revealed his identity to the other Scabbards and led 1,000 samurai to join the raid on Onigashima.

He fought bravely against Kaido with the other Scabbards, recreating Oden’s powerful attack, but was eventually defeated.

Later, he helped strike down Orochi Kurozumi, ending the Kurozumi family’s tyranny.

After the battle, he acted as Daimyo of Ringo and welcomed Wano's new era of peace.

Hints and Revelations

Denjiro’s habits, such as being good with money, running a money-exchange, and his words about Oden’s wife, were hints about his true identity.

His actions toward Kozuki Hiyori and his way of talking about the Shogun also pointed toward his loyalty to the Kozuki family.

Denjiro was careful not to reveal his real self, even among close friends, since there was a traitor among them.

He revealed his full story during the climax of the Wano country’s liberation.
