Chief of Staff of the Revolutionary Army. Sworn brother of Ace and Luffy. Bounty of 602 million Berries. Known as the "Flame Emperor."
Born in the Goa Kingdom in the East Blue. 22 years old. Birthday is March 20th (3 = "sa," 2 = "bu," 0 = "o"). Height was 100cm at age 10, now 187cm. Pisces. Blood type X. Favorite food is ramen.
A young man who holds the position of No. 2 in the Revolutionary Army. Characterized by a silk hat with goggles, a black coat, a blue jacket, and a scarf around his neck. As a child, he had short hair and missing teeth, and now he has long hair with a large burn scar on the left side of his face. His bond with Ace and Luffy is stronger than anything, and he is determined to rush to Luffy's side in times of crisis, no matter where in the world he is. Generally friendly and calm, but like Ace and Luffy, he often acts alone based on his emotions. He often frustrates his colleagues by stating his needs and then quickly ending the communication. Like Luffy, he often forgets people's names and calls them by unusual nicknames. As a child, he was the most composed of the three, often calming down the somewhat wild Ace. At that time, he dreamed of seeing the world and writing a book about it. His childhood pirate flag featured an "S" with an "X" mark.
Possesses a very powerful finger strength known as "Dragon's Claw," and uses a martial art called "Dragon Claw Fist" (Ryūsōken), which involves coating his fingers with "Armament Haki." During the Dressrosa arc, he became the user of the Logia-type Devil Fruit "Mera Mera no Mi," allowing him to combine flame attacks with his Dragon Claw Fist. His weapon has been an iron pipe since childhood. As a child, his fighting skills were on par with Ace, and Luffy was no match for them.
Born to nobility in the Goa Kingdom, he grew disillusioned with a life dictated by his selfish parents and ran away to live in the Gray Terminal seeking freedom. At age 5, he met Ace, and at age 10, he saved Luffy from the Bluejam Pirate Crew, leading to a communal life under the Dadan family with Ace and Luffy, where they became sworn brothers. One day, while sneaking into the town center, he was discovered by his father, and Ace and Luffy were beaten by Bluejam, who had been bribed by their father, forcing him to return home. After learning that the kingdom and nobility had set fire to the Gray Terminal, he was deeply ashamed of his noble birth and confided his feelings to Dragon. The next day, he decided to set sail, but just as he was about to leave, his ship was sunk by a bombardment from a Celestial Dragon visiting the Goa Kingdom, leaving him with severe injuries and a large burn scar on the left side of his face, but he was saved by Dragon and survived.
However, this incident caused him to lose his memory, forgetting not only his days with Luffy and Ace but even his own name. His identity was confirmed from a name written on his belongings, but his strong desire not to return to his parents remained, leading him to voluntarily join the Revolutionary Army. Since then, as a member of the Revolutionary Army, he learned about the state of the world and came to sympathize with Dragon's ideals. Under Dragon's tutelage, he gained further strength and climbed to the position of Chief of Staff, the No. 2 position. After seeing the newspaper report on Ace's death during the Summit War, his lost memories suddenly returned, and he was so shocked that he lost consciousness for three days. After waking up, he decided to obtain the Mera Mera no Mi. Two years later, he visited Ace's grave and reported Luffy's revival.
In the Dressrosa arc, he infiltrated Dressrosa with Koala and Hack to stop the outflow of weapons. Inside the Corrida Colosseum, he reunited with Luffy for the first time in 12 years and participated in the gladiatorial contest as the gladiator Lucy in Luffy's place. In the final battle for the Mera Mera no Mi, he took advantage of the chaos when the toys were freed, destroyed the ring, and knocked the other contestants out of the ring to win the contest and ate the Mera Mera no Mi, inheriting Ace's powers. After escaping from underground, he went to support Luffy and others heading to defeat Doflamingo and single-handedly held back the Navy, engaging in combat with Admiral Fujitora. During the battle, Fujitora revealed his own schemes, leading them to withdraw their hands and focus on rescuing civilians. Later, upon receiving a report from Koala, he fought Burgess, who was targeting the temporarily immobilized Luffy, and defeated him. After Doflamingo's defeat, he visited Zoro and others at night, handed over a Vivre Card he had made for Luffy while he was asleep, and received a piece of it before leaving Dressrosa ahead of his comrades.
In the Reverie arc, along with other executives, he infiltrated Mariejois to declare war on the Celestial Dragons, destroy the food storage, and rescue Kuma. On the fourth day of the World Conference, in the residential area of the Celestial Dragons, the "Land of the Gods," he destroyed the "Heavenly Dragon's Hoof," a symbol of the World Government. While pursuing Kuma, he witnessed a meeting between King Cobra of Alabasta and the Five Elders inside the castle. When Cobra was in danger, he attempted a rescue but was severely injured by an attack from Im and had to flee. During the escape, the dying Cobra entrusted him with a message for Luffy and Vivi. After the closure of the World Conference, he was considered the mastermind behind various incidents, including the assassination of Cobra. In particular, in the countries of the "Eight Nation Revolution," he is called the "Flame Emperor" and holds a position of influence greater than Dragon's. After the Wano Country arc, he fled to the Kingdom of Lulusia, where he was believed to have been caught in an attack by Mother Flame, but he had escaped the kingdom just before and returned to the Kamabakka Kingdom with the citizens of Lulusia who wished to join the Revolutionary Army, where he reported the events of the World Conference to Dragon and Ivankov.
In the movie "GOLD," he went to Gran Tesoro to search for Rayleigh Max, who had gone missing during an undercover mission. When the Navy intervened in Luffy's battle with Tesoro, he obstructed the Navy's bombardment and engaged in combat with Rob Lucci of CP-0. After Luffy defeated Tesoro, they both withdrew their hands.
In the movie "STAMPEDE," the Revolutionary Army targeted the organizer of the Pirate Festival, Buena Festa, and he infiltrated the venue. In the battle with Douglas Bullet, he assisted Luffy. After the battle between Luffy and Bullet was settled, he appeared before Festa, who tried to resist, and defeated him with a single blow. As a Buster Call fleet approached the island, he stopped the movement of the Navy fleet with an illusion of Ace created by the singer Ann and saw off Luffy's departure.
